Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis is a hotel in a very high place Lake Titicaca, 12,500 feet+ above sea level. And this hotel does not have an elevator. Air is very thin and is very hard to breathe so stepping up a staircase in these conditions is very difficult for some people. This is the main negative comment, elevators should be considered for this Hotel.

AustraliaWe stayed here for 5 nights and really enjoyed the hotel. It is a walk to town or quick taxi ride. There isn’t much around the hotel but it has great lake views, a nice garden (with llamas) and lounge areas. The staff here are probably the best we’ve had so far on this trip, so professional, helpful and happy. The room was large, super comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, we took a lake view room and it was well worth it. We ate at these restaurant a lot, the food was excellent. Breakfast buffet included all the usual things with omelettes cooked to order as well. Highly recommended.

Great room/hotel in Puno just out of town on the lake. The restaurant was also lovely with some great meals if wanting to stay in. The staff were incredible, always going out of their way to accomodate us.

United KingdomPoor choice of snack food at the hotel. If you need to leave early (ours was a 4.30am check.out), the front gates are locked and the security guard was not there to open them. Our taxi had to wait for 10 mins whilst we tried to leave, which made us late for our bus.
Room facilities, views, staff attention to detail.

DenmarkWhen I did the booking it said it included all taxes, I think Booking needs to add that other fees might be in place (the 18% surcharge I had, within the law). And I don't know if it was because of the type of change (but that much?) I paid 79,64 USD instead of the 74USD that appeared when I did the booking. But yeah, besides that amazing experience.
The room was beautiful! Amazing lake view, beds were super comfortable, bathroom was very clean and with sustainable products. Awesome personel! Also food was delicious, although they should have more plant-based products and lactose free options.

United StatesThe small from the Puno side of lake titicaca. Also, not all dishes from the restaruant are delicious. The couscos, and the lamb legs are great, not much about the rest dishes from my opinion.
The view was great. The staff has limited English capability though, but I don't have much difficulties to get all information and help I needed. The breakfast is a standard average western buffet breakfast. The view from the room is fabulous. The hotel has a big back yard just by the lake Titicaca. Though Lake Titicaca near the Puno side in general has some unpleasant smell, but that is not the hotel's fault. In the large back yard, there are a few resting area, and we saw wild geini pigs and farm raised alpaca and sheep. The beds are very comfortable.

New ZealandThe setting of the hotel- on the edge of the city and on the lake shore- has some positives but the over all environment that the hotel is located was not attractive and not suitable for walking beyond the hotel.
This was a comfortable, secure hotel with very good amenities. We liked the location on the edge of town and with a great view across the lake to Puno city. We also liked the old lake steamer moored in front of the hotel restaurant.

PeruOur recent stay at Sonesta Posadas del Inca by Lake Titicaca was, for the most part, a delightful experience. However, we encountered a minor setback with the bed in room 220. Despite being informed that it was a new bed, we discovered two noticeable dents on either side, disrupting our sleep and comfort. The king-sized bed felt more like a precarious balancing act, making us feel as if we were on the verge of tumbling out. Upon raising our concern, the hotel promptly sent maintenance to address the issue, but regrettably, dents in the bed cannot be easily rectified. Graciously, the hotel offered to relocate us to another room, an offer we accepted without hesitation. The new room provided a cozy haven for the night, ensuring a restful and rejuvenating sleep. Despite this initial hiccup, we were thoroughly impressed with Sonesta Posadas del Inca's proactive approach in swiftly addressing the situation and providing a viable solution. This incident showcased the hotel's dedication to guest satisfaction, turning what could have been a negative experience into a positive one.
Embarking on a quest for serenity just beyond the city's hustle and bustle, we stumbled upon Sonesta Posadas del Inca. Strategically positioned a mere 15-minute taxi ride from the heart of the city, the hotel immediately captivated us with its peaceful surroundings, particularly during the tranquil nights. To top it off, our room boasted a magnificent view overlooking the pristine beauty of Lake Titicaca. While the hotel's interior design might lean towards the vintage, Sonesta Posadas del Inca compensates with a range of outstanding amenities. Uninterrupted access to piping hot water, a sumptuous buffet breakfast catering to both the young and the old, ensures a comfortable and gratifying stay. Moreover, for those in need of an oxygen boost, the hotel graciously offers this service at a nominal fee. A small payment of 30 soles grants access to an oxygen mask, allowing guests to share the revitalizing experience. A mere 15-minute session of oxygen inhalation in the morning and evening works wonders, assisting in acclimatization and fostering a restful night's sleep. What truly sets Sonesta Posadas del Inca apart, however, is the warm and welcoming staff. Their exceptional friendliness added a delightful dimension to our stay, elevating the overall experience. Furthermore, their attentiveness extended to assisting us in connecting with reliable tour agencies, significantly streamlining our travel planning. In conclusion, Sonesta Posadas del Inca stands as a serene haven nestled by Lake Titicaca, providing a tranquil retreat for weary travelers. Despite minor aesthetic aspects, the array of amenities and exemplary service make it a standout choice for visitors seeking a harmonious blend of comfort and peace.
