Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech Republic- The communication with the hosts was a little slow. - the cold water in the bathroom
It was a truly nice experience. The host arranged a last-minute tour to Uros Islands (in Spanish with Eddie's father) and Taquile Island (In English with an organized group) for us - we went during low season. Additionally, they took care of all our transfers and even accommodated an early transfer so we could catch an early bus. The room was spacious, clean, and featured a comfortable bed with enough blankets to ensure a restful night's sleep despite the chilly weather.

The pick up and drop off worked flawlessly and uncomplicated. Everyone is super friendly. Food was great. The private lake tour is very interesting and you learn a lot about the community. It’s very quiet and peaceful, perfect to relax after some days in the cities.

RomaniaThe place is such a uniqe experience, it’s a must see. Even with the conditions of living, there is everything you need for a shorter period of stay. Eddy and his family ar super kind and caring, and the value for money is absolutely worth it. We had dinner, lunch, breakfast, a 2 hour tour and transportation included in the all inclusive package and it was more than great.

United KingdomIt is a rare and amazing chance to stay on the man made islands in the middle of the lake! Totally worth it. Eddie and family were wet friendly and helpful. They sent a driver to pick up us from the station and met us at the bay by a boat. They also organised a trip to Taquile island for us and treated us to yummy breakfast and dinner daily. The tranquility and nature of the lake is outstanding! It was about 5-10C outside, not too cold even without heating and definitely warm in bed with tons of duvets. However, I missed warm water a bit and one has to just get on with the bathroom facilities as it isn’t what you’d have on land. Overall, a great place to chill and detach from your daily life as there’s no internet so you can sit on a deck and meditate on the lake! Once in a lifetime journey.

GermanyBe aware you are in the middle of a big lake living with indigenous Uro people - it is not western standard (but you can not miss a thing) but worth diving in. We loved the experience and Eddy‘d heartwarming energy.

United StatesIt gets colder at nigth, but Eddie´s mum provided us with bottles of hot watter that keep us warm the whole night until the next morning. Although there are no outlets, Eddie helped us to charge your phones.Bring your own towels and shower products.
Amazing local and unique experience. Eddie and his family paid attention to every detail so our stay was perfect! We ate local and home food, we visited the community, bought local handicrafts, and learnt about their way of life. In addition, it was quiet at night so we were able to rest after our trip. Don´t expect a luxury hotel, but expect an amazing experience!

GermanyEddy and his family are very friendly. Our room was perfect. There was even warm water in the shower, which I didn't expect. We did a 2 hours Uros tour with Eddy. The tour was very interesting, we were at the local school as well as at local families and we totally recommend booking this tour! Moreover, we borrowed a kayak from Eddy and were kayaking. The nights are pretty cold on those islands, but you get very warm blankets and warming bottles. It was an amazing experience to learn more about Uros people and Lake Titikaka. We also recommend to try the lunch/dinner. It's very delicious.

United KingdomThe only criticism I can make and the reason I can’t give 10/10 is that the shower did not work very well due to problems with water pressure and temperature, so quite difficult to wash. I appreciate that it cannot be easy to achieve a perfect shower every time on a floating island though.
Just an amazing, truly unique place and an experience not to be missed. A lovely family who create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We particularly loved the terrace overlooking the lake with an outdoor four poster bed, such a treat! Super-friendly pets on site were also a delight. Beds were very comfortable and really warm at night with the addition of the homemade hot water bottles.

Eddy was amazing as a host and made our whole trip run smoothly! The location is breathtaking and views are amazing. Eddy set us up a boat tour the next day of a nearby island and dropped us off to join the tour. The food was simple but delicious and his family very kind. Everything was provided to make the whole trip stress free such as pick up from the bus station and a boat to the homestay. Highly recommend this experience!!

Germany- the shower had only very cold water and the water pressure was super weak. We came from a two day hike in Colca canyon and I desperately needed a shower. - toilet was interesting without flush but some kind of cat litter - but that’s what you also read in the description from the hotel
- great experience to stay on the family island - Eddy (son) speaks very good English, his parents only speak Spanish but are super lovely and always smile :) - the bed was huge, we had seven blankets and got a bottle of hot water each for the night to take with us to bed (it’s freezing cold at night) - we slept very good with all this - the private terrace and the hammocks were very nice to relax a bit in the sun and enjoy the sunrise and sunset (the sun is very strong at lake Titicaca and after sunset it gets very cold) - we booked the all inclusive option and therefore had all home cooked meals included (very good, also vegetation option) and got two tours with Eddy on his boats. He explained the life at lake Titicaca and showed us around the Uros islands. It was really nice to get a tour from a local and not go on the touristic tours starting in Puno.

Germany- very cold at night (wintertime)- be prepared! We even got hot-water-bottles after dinner! :) Thank you! … you should ask about the details of (2 Hour) boat-tour beforehand.
Once in a lifetime experience! We absolutely loved and enjoyed to stay with Eddy and his family. They are very welcoming and caring. Food was delicious. We will never forget the unique experience to stay at that magic place and see how the Uros live. Sunsets are truly spectecular :) We had a little dress up with the mum of the family which was really fun! Kayak and the little ride with Roy was very interessting. They are really Life-artists and live with the condition of „cochamama“! We would come again!

United StatesFacilities are very basic. If you want comfort and luxury, this is the wrong place. Sometimes, no running water in the morning until the overhead water towers unfreeze! Room is heated with a gas heater - can get below freezing on some nights. Bathroom very basic. More like a camping experience but great way to see how locals live. Great if you are on a budget!
Eddy and his family were great hosts. Very authentic experience living as the natives. Generous size rooms, great home made food, hot water bottles at night (much needed). Eddy picked us up from train station then took us to the lodge with his boat. Great communication, no surprises!
