Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

I was very disappointed with the telephone reservation team, as i booked through booking.com application i was already charged on the 3rd of july but the hotel double charged me again on the 10th of july the day of my check in before I arrived, when i called them and explained them the issue they were very rude and did not support my claim even as i had sent them the proof that i was double charged they did not coordinate and kept on telling me to contact booking.com even though the second charge was directly done by the hotel, eventually I contacted booking.com and eventually got it sorted, but there was not even a proper apology from the hotel staff which comes to show the unprofessionalism of the staff.

RussiaWe chose this hotel to stay with a family with two children. Guided by the location and photos presented on the sites. All the photos are a hoax! They are very strongly retouched and not true. The rooms are dirty, scattered, with a strong smell. The air conditioners are old and very noisy. The pool is dirty. This hotel is significantly overpriced. The arrival at this hotel was a disappointment, and we decided to give up the service and did not stay even for one night. The hotel management turned out to be a fraud and refused to even partially reimburse us for the service that we did not receive. Do not spoil the rest and impressions of a beautiful island, choosing this hotel. Around a lot of decent hotels, much cheaper and hundreds of times more cozy. We went to the appropriate authorities to prosecute the fraudsters.

Hong Kongloud music, my room was not well maintained - found a cockroach and some water stains in the bathroom, and loose floor tile in the shower area (which I reported to reception but no improvement or action taken or any concession given), paid premium for room with pool access but the pool opens very late at 10am so by the time I can use it there were already lots of kids in it. the breakfast buffet was so so, nothing special. the whole property just seemed not very well kept. all in all not not a good value for money which I could have spent on other premium properties.

United StatesBe careful in booking with Agoda and Booking.com—— THIS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. I BOOKED TWO ROOMS. Rooms has a funny smell of sewage. Air conditioning was leaking on the inside. I have to call front desk several times In a day to mop the leakage. Bathrooms were designed with no partitions— when taking a shower water flows all over the bathroom making everything wet. I have to ask dozens of towels just to make the floor dry. Caution with the floor tiles—- very slippery. Pillows and pillow cases provided has a smell. I requested several times from the front desk and kept bringing in the same thing over and over. We bought pillows and covered it with sheets instead. Towels were very old. Breakfast served on the 5th floor on an open space with flies swarming the food— no covers.
