Very clean and comfortable. Perfect location practically in General Luna but a bit outside the noise, so that you can relax (max 5min with bike). Cloud 9 is also a 5-minute bike ride away. The huts and the overall vibes are very relaxing, we had really good sleeps. Very friendly and helpful staff, organised bike, boat tours and surfing lessons really fast. Ready to help us out with any questions we may have had. We had a perfect time, thank you very much 😊

The bathroom is open air and although it's sheltered I had a frog in my shower for some days and the bamboo can be a bit uncomfortable to stand on. Minor but to be considered!

The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful, surfing lessons were fun and very good. It was my first time surfing and Pali was a great teacher! They also have amazing breakfast options, my favourite were the smoothie bowls. Super cute accommodation too, will definitely be back!

We loved our stay at Mao Mao! For us it had everything we needed to feel super comfortable, it is a very thoughtful, stylish place. It has just the right amount of comforts that makes it feel special. Highly recommend the surf lessons too! Thanks so much to Len for the warm hospitality and Kent and Ryan for the lessons :) Mao Mao really feels like a family and that radiated into it feeling like ‘home’ more than a hotel in the best way. Beautiful place. Large rooms, clean and I may be repetitive, but beautiful. The staff is always friendly, helpful and patient. Patients because I asked them a thousand things and they always helped me with everything. The breakfast was very good, the best in the place ever. Only thing I can think of are the towels - they left quite some cotton residue on the skin after showering which was uncomfortable when putting cream on after.

We loved our stay here! It looks exactly as online and we felt so welcomed by Ien and his colleagues. The rooms are super cute and are being cleaned daily, the outdoor bathroom was lovely too. We had breakfast one morning and it was delicious. We tried the cafe next door the next morning (which was great too). We booked surfing through them as well and had to reschedule one lesson, Cara was incredibly responsive and flexible. We felt very accommodated! They also shared plenty of island recommendations with us and it genuinely felt as if they wanted us to have the very best time in Siargao. We decided to stay 2 nights and move to another hotel before getting to the Philippines and regretted our choice. Would 100% recommend to book when coming to Siargao! :-)

The huts and the surfer vibe. Really laid back and the fact that they only have 6-7 houses makes it a tiny community. The covered outdoor shower is a really nice feature. Lastly, the food! Best smoothly bowl we had sofar.

It’s difficult to explain it in words. It was my third time and I will repeat for sure. The rooms are perfect, they have a bamboo bathroom that you will miss when you leave. It's like being in the jungle but, of course, everything is super clean because every day the staff cleans the rooms, toilets, and the whole space. There is no worker in Mao Mao that brings you good vibes. They make you feel at home, welcome you with a smile and take care of you as well as they can. Youwill find a menu for every situation! Have you spent 3 hours in the sea surfing? order yourself a Pirate Sandwich. Do you want something healthier? Ordered a Green Wave Bowl. Surfing with Mao Mao guarantees you go to the best surf spots on the Island with the best conditions. Mike, Pali, Elton and the other instructors know the perfect time and place so you can enjoy the experience 100%. Cara and Marcos have done a great job and it shows. CONGRATULATIONS! If you're thinking about it, don't wait any longer!!!!

Not much! Honestly the only things I would mention is the shower was either cool or really hot but you don’t really need a shower that’s hot on Siargo and we took the surf lesson which were good but would of thought there was a bit more coaching involved in the price. But I got sick so I wasn’t able to do more days so I’m sure that was just the first day of surfing.

This place is the chill vibe you need when on Siargo. Just a short bike ride away from general Luna and cloud nine. Right in the middle of both. They whole environment is perfect and the rooms were so lovely. The food they serve from 7:30-3 is amazing and perfect if you are vegetarian/vegan. The chill area is great and has strong wifi. Cute dogs<3 Ien is also a bonus touch, everyone who worked there was so helpful and made for a pleasant stay.

The surf was an incredible experience, they have awesome surf instructors that thoroughly explain and make all the surf experience fun and easy. The bungalow was dreamy, very romantic for our holiday and their bamboo bathroom is something else. Breakfast was delicious, we were happy with the so many options we got to try everyday.

Mao Mao is a beautiful accomodation, it makes you feel right in the middle of nature, with all the comforts you need. Cara and her team are ready to assist you on booking surf classes, tours, give you great island recommendations, and they have the most amazing pancakes and mango smoothies, you need to try them!

Everything was perfect, but we would have stayed longer if the bungalows had air-conditioning. It gets a bit hot during the day with just a fan.

Rooms very tastefully done. The breakfast menu with fresh smoothie bowls & pancakes are next level! The private surf lessons we took were amazing. The surf instructors are lovely, very patient and goes into the water with you.

Excursion trip booked via hostel wasn't what we expected (external company). Transport to the hostel in van (external) didn't have change so we paid double for transportation there. Location slightly out the way so need a motorbike to get around.

Loved the set up and the bungalows!! Lovely staff and aesthetic place!! Easy to rent a motorbike with the hostel and the breakfast food was amazing!! Would love to come back!!

The only thing would be it'd be nice to have cooled soft drinks on offer. As a non beer drinker, this was the only option, but they dont mind you bringing your own and happily giving me glasses of ice

The accommodation was really great. I loved the rustic feel of the huts and the bamboo showers were really fun. Comfy beds and the fans were enough at keeping you cool at night. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Always on hand for advice on things to go do and see. Food was DELICIOUS 😋.

We've been staying at Mao Mao surf and I can definitely say that it's probably the best accomodation in General Luna.The staff is super friendly, always helpful and they can help organize trips and surf classes. They do have the best surf instructors on the island. Will be staying again!

Only wish they weren't so booked up so I could have stayed here longer :). The internet/electricity can be spotty but they have generators and this issue isn't specific to Mao Mao (it's a problem across the whole island).

Mao Mao is a gem! Hands down would recommend staying here. Aside from how comfortable and nice it was to stay here, the community was absolutely precious. It can be hard to find a local vibe and plug into these niche surf circles when traveling, especially if you have very little time. But if you have any interest in surf, surf culture, and being a part of the Siargao surf element, then this is the spot. I arrived with very basic surf experience and left feeling very confident in my surf abilities after just a few private lessons. The owners are genuine, the level of service is top tier, the food is delicious. Don't hesitate to book before it's too late!
