Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Italy- a small thing: the location of the place is a plus, but can also a minus because there are not too many facilities in the surroundings. If you want to reach the city center, you will have to call a transport (extra 200 PHP each time)
+ idyllic location near Tambisaan Beach, in one of the most quiet and peaceful areas of the island + the apartment was spacious and clean + the service was perfect - the owner and her team help us with everything, including the organization of the island hopping tour

PhilippinesI loved the location. If you want a to relax in a quiet but beautiful place, Paras Inn is highly recommended! Spacious rooms, fully equipped kitchen, clean bathrooms and a very relaxing ambience. It is also super near to Tambisaan beach where you can enjoy swimming without too much crowd.

New ZealandA bit far from the main beach, although accommodation provides etrike service for a small fee. During our stay, there was disruption of water, so no water for almost a day. Property should have a water tank as backup. Staff provided us heaps of purified water later in the evening for domestic use.
Unique and Philippine themed accommodation. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Staff are able to provide home cooked food as per request and they can cook yummy food. Relaxing and quiet environment.

ArgentinaNothing of what you see in photos is what you get. I thought I'd be doing a good thing by staying with a local business rather than a hotel, but I was soooo wrong. The room they gave us was not the upstairs one, but one downstairs next to their kitchen/living area. It's damp and dark, and you can't open the only available window due to privacy issues (the window looks right in their kitchen area where they sit around all day). The owners will play cards, watch TV and talk there until 1am (I think it would have been going on for longer if we didn't tell them to please be quiet as we were trying to sleep). We had a water cut-off while showering, which basically left us soapy and eventually washing ourselves with buckets... Location is terrible, there is absolutely nothing in the area, and you need to hike 45min to town and back or get an overpriced trike ride (200 pesos, of which a cut will go right to the owner/manager right in front of you - he will tell you you can't get any trike outside and you need a "special" ride because of the time/area. Btw, there is a hop on/off bus that actually runs the length of the island, he won't mention). We checked out after the first night, as there were hotels in the centre for even less that guaranteed more than basic amenities. The price is a rip-off, it wouldn't have been too bad if it reflected what you get (which should be priced at 1/3). In general, I wouldn't advise boracay as a destination. Much better and cheaper places elsewhere in Se Asia.
The photos in the ad - a pity this is not reflecting the reality

QatarUpon arrival, felt like the room hadn’t been cleaned (sandy floor, sandy bed). Cold shower, we stayed for 7 nights and the room was not made up throughout the stay. We were thought to believe the stay was at a beach shack but it was further in (still close to the beach but not on the front). We thought we would be in the upstairs tree house but we were downstairs and it was very dark.
Felt like a authentic Philippine home stay

PhilippinesIt would have been nice it they have a personal ebike where they can pick-up or drop off their clients since it's a little far from the main beach. A personal transportation would definitely be a big plus for them.
My daughter and I loved how cozy the place is. We were able to cook and do our laundry there. The staffs were very helpful and we're very accommodating. The wifi is also good, because I was still able to do some work while we were there. One of the best things there was that it's only a 2 minute walk from the beach. There were also stores nearby where we can buy some food for a lesser price, which is also a big plus. :) - Super love "Pogi" the dog.
