Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe food it is very cheap But then was not really good. I mean I'm expecting more. Maybe about the taste it's something missing. And please remove your beach bed into your photo because I was expecting you have those all. Literally nothing. I ask for my dad because it would be nice laying down on the beach but you haven't. But in booking photo you got. Beside from that all is good.
It was nice literally on the beach. All the workers is super friendly. Thanks to take care of my family they enjoy it.

QatarNothing. All was great and exceeded our expectations.
A small family run Station 3 beachfront hotel that is of excellent value. Friendly and accommodating staff. We stayed in "Ocean" which is a very large, clean, a bit dated room with large balcony overlooking the ocean. Free breakfast in the beachfront restaurant. Located next to a dive shop. Having walked the full length of the beach from Stn 3 > 1, I believe the hotel is in the best location away from the crowds, other restaurants very close by and a short walk to all the shops. No seaweed on this part of the beach (just in Stn 1 and part of 2). Allowed us a late 2pm checkout as there were no incoming guests...thank you 😊 I believe the room is nicer than the photos.

EgyptFor a first timer, they allocated the room "yellow" for us in the very last room which is a little bit far. The extra bed was a little bit uncomfortable but it was okay. I hope they add electric kettles to all the room.
The place is very near to the beach, the staff is very helpful and thoughtful. The reception is 24/7. When you need something you just have to ask and they will be able to assist you. The room was very clean and the amenities were great. Amazing and delicious choices of food. The place is very peaceful which I really liked.

AustraliaWater pressure is weak but no problem at all. Just aware hot water takes longer to heat up, but you'll get use to it.
Very friendly filipino customer service. Free set breakfast meal during your stay. If you do not like to hear loud Karaoke and like to relax? This is a perfect hotel for you! When you check out, the staff will help to organise Tuk Tuk to return you back to Boracay Jetty Port.

South AfricaThe drain in the room smelt bad. I was told clean towels every 2 days. This did not happen. Used the same towels for 4 days. Room only got cleaned twice. Only 4 loungers on the beach so I was only able to use 1 once. The karaoke next door started at 11 in the morning and went on till 11 at night. The room I was in needed a new mattress. Foam does not last long.

This is our second stay at Surfside. The first time, we were with my family. They have wonderful people behind the counters including the family that owns this cozy place. Excellent and genuine customer service! If your Boracay style is loud, crowded, flashy, and extravagant, then this isn't the place for you. Surfside's charm is low-key, clean, and unpretentious, reminding me of the old Boracay of the late 90's. The restaurant menu choices--though plenty and sumptuous--are very affordable. Their signature Yasuragi massage will make you feel like royalty. The best part of our Surfside experience is Tin-Tin, the resort's adopted Calico cat, who welcomes and sends off guests so affectionately, making us feel like returning very soon.

United KingdomThere really wasn't anything I didn't like, the location around boat station 3 is a bit far from the most livley parts of the beach but that's not the fault of the hotel there is nothing they can do about that, there was still a lot to do nearby.
Staff were really nice, breakfast was great and the breakfast prepared for us on the day we left (we had to leave really really early in the morning) was a really nice touch. The room was lovely and clean, very nice and had a bright fresh look, aircon was excellent beds were great, my kids loved the room. Staff were very helpful when I needed some help with booking our pickup for our return to the airport. Overall it was a lovely wee hotel with great staff and I just wish we had been able to stay for a longer period of time.

SwedenThe restaurant was being renovated while we were there, so breakfast was held in a makeshift dining area. This also meant the front of property had some on-going construction, with a narrow path to access the property. We also had a limited access to a huge balcony from our room because of makeshift wind breakers covering the doors for the rainy season.
The staff in the reception and the restaurant were friendly and hospitable. We were entitled as guests to a 50% discount at the neighboring Yurasagi spa, which we availed of several times. There were many good options for breakfast. The room for four people was comfortable. Responses on Booking.com was timely and straighforward.

United KingdomWi-Fi was hit and miss, and constantly logs you off so was rather frustrating. But when it works, it’s okay.
Right in front of the beach with amazing sunset! Decent Japanese restaurant, and seating area at the bar with stools facing the beach and charging port if you want to charge your phone or work whilst enjoying the sea view! Relaxing vibes with very helpful and friendly staff. Far enough away from the chaos of station 2 (the walk to the entrance of D-mall is 15mins if you walk very fast like me, or a leisurely 30mins. Surfside is strategically located with nearby restaurants/bars and convenient stores. Highly recommend and will stay here again.
