Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandCollecting the keys was a bit traumatic. Maybe it was because it was a Saturday but we arrived around 5pm, as we said we would, at the location given to us to locked doors and no one answering the phone for nearly an hour. Now, they made up for it on the last day of our trip when they let us leave our bags in the apartment until our taxi came at 2.45pm. A good walk into the old town but Uber is so cheap, save the shoe leather and book.
The apartment was very spacious and had everything we needed. Great shower. Quiet location away from the apparent noise of the old town at night

United KingdomThe flat needs some TLC. The coffee machine wasn't working as it needs descaling. The water in the shower was escaping to the bathroom floor as the seal was not attached.
The flat is big which is nice and the bathroom was great.Great location close to market sq and main attraction. Close to main train station. Nice building with lift access.

Germany1.) You need to be(come) Sherlock Holmes to collect the keys. Without help from Dr. Watson it might take longer to solve the issue, especially if you arrive late. 2.) Parking for 50 złoty is too dear. In the neighborhood you might find public parking on the street for 30 złoty per day.
1.) Location is good (between main train station and city center) 2.) Property is clean 3.) WiFi works fine

PolandI didn't get the necessary info for key collection before arrival and was not able to reach anybody by phone for 20 minutes, waiting outside (freezing). Then there was a broken elevator (my husband had a problem with his leg), fortunately there was a second one. The light in the entry hall was barely working, Led lights would need changing. There were some cigaret fixtures left in the closet and old pack of cigarets and a beer can on the balcony. There were dirty cutlery pieces in a kitchen drawer. There were 4 of us and we got 2 large size covers, with no option for 4 smaller. We actually got 2 small bed linens instead of a bedsheet. The WiFi was not available (code from the modem not working) and no remote control for the tv. Nobody answered my call nor replied to my messages till the end of our stay. There was an abandoned plant that would need some care, which gave a sad touch to the whole picture.
The location is good, apartament was spacious, there was operational coffee maker. If it wasn't for the absolute neglect of the customer care principles, the stay would be quite fine.

Ukrainevery difficult settlement. in the reviews it was already written that you have to be Sherlock to get into the apartment. I'm lucky that I have a friend who lives in Wrocław who knows Polish and she helped me, because neither on booking nor on my calls at that moment were they not answering. I don't know how I would have settled in without my Polish girlfriend. Unfortunately, the apartment is dirty. an unpleasant smell, like a cigarette. there is no air conditioner, and it was +30 degrees. thank you that there was a fan:)) also about communication, the Wi-Fi password is not written anywhere in the apartment, you have to ask in the messenger, but do not expect a quick answer :( the apartment is designed for three people, but there were two pillows:)) as well as the blanket: )) there is a balcony with a table, it is very nice, but it is impossible to sit there because of the dirt (it seems to me that when I left, the apartment became cleaner than it was. There was a vacuum cleaner, I tried to clean it myself, but it was clogged (
liked the location, close to the train station and the center, not noisy and not dirty area. thank you for checking in an hour earlier and checking out an hour later. the apartment is large, spacious. there is almost everything for a comfortable stay, such as a hairdryer, dishes, clothes dryer, washing machine, iron, coffee machine (capsule)

PortugalWe arrived late at night and the keys collection wasn't easy. It was a bit confusing, but we managed to sort everything out. The photos on the site didn't match the apartment, which was a bit disappointing.
The bathroom was amazing, and the decoration was outstanding. The apartment was quite big and the location was perfect, everything was at walking distance. The kitchen was well supplied, but some everyday ingredients such as salt, vinegar and olive oil, were missing. This is just a detail. Our stay was great. The staff was rather helpful.
