“This hotel is in an old quite spectacular castle, so many inside facilities are traditional rather than modern which we were totally happy with. The location is on a hill, a five minute fairly steep walk into town. The public areas and restaurant are grand and have wonderful views of countryside and the private garden. There is a good pool and surrounding area. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. Our room was large and comfortable within the context of being traditionally furnished. Staff were friendly and efficient. There is also abundant free and safe parking on the square outside the hotel, but be careful not to become blocked in on a Sunday during the nearby church services.”
“Excellent location to walk into the centre. We stayed on a Saturday and as we couldn't check-in until 3pm, we enjoyed the Saturday morning market in the centre of town. Many restaurants around.
Hotel appears modern but not really 5*. We had free parking but it's limited within the compounds. So arrive early. Rooms were generous in size and we were in the garden block. Very comfy beds (for a change!) And the Aircon worked well. The WiFi speed was good despite being in a separate building. Armchair in the rooms too. There's a lovely swimming pool with fountain and a small gym. Breakfast was satisfactory with the usual hot dishes and choices of cold meats.”
“This is our second stay at this hotel. We like Estremos for it's choice of restaurants and this hotel is within easy walk into town. It's also within the castle walls. This trip we managed to get a twin room in the main block (they have garden blocks too), all accessible to the pool. Rooms are very spacious, large twin beds, (still a bit firm for me) , WiFi speed good enough for streaming and we requested a walk-in shower.
The TV had many English channels.
Breakfast was more continental style in a very decorative sunny room that opens out to the pool and gardens. There's plenty of secure parking on site. As it was raining, we decided to eat in and the main dining room had a good menu and quality was very good and tasty. Great value for money.”
