The staff were exceptional and beyond helpful especially Heurie and Fillepie and made the visit very pleasant. No bar or cold drink facility by the pool was not ideal in the hot afternoons , the room was spacious, comfortable and clean.

Some building work in progress behind the hotel which was a little noisy by the pool.

Just outside the town of Alvor, so nice and quiet. The rooms are a great size with a nice sofa, large fridge freezer and everything you could need. The hotel wasn’t busy and staff very polite and helpful.

The swimming pool had a seagull issue and was full of bird faeces around and in the pool. We spoke to the reception about getting the pool cleaned, maintenance man came with a mop and bucket, I said it needs way more then that to get the faeces actually out of the water. He then said he would contact their pool cleaning company and they would come that day. They didn’t. We was told by other guests they never see anyone cleaning the pool or checking chemical levels etc. which meant no one would actual use the pool. Was a real shame we booked this hotel for the pool. We won’t return only due to the pool issue.

Hotel and room was nice, clean and modern. Location perfect. We had a lovely view from our balcony.

We stayed in mid September but the hotel restaurant shut at 6pm and the bar shut at 9pm and ran out of beer! The pool side bar was closed throughout our stay.

A wonderful hotel which is a 10-15 minute walk away from the center of Alvor. We stayed in a very comfortable and spacious 2 bed apartment with self catering facilities and a lovely top floor terrace. The pool was very clean and the sunbeds were new so very comfortable. The staff, particularly Kate and Luri are fantastic ambassadors for the hotel, nothing was too much trouble and Beatrice at the bar, was also wonderful. Thank you all.

Nothing to dislike, but maybe the bar could stay open an extra hour or two to enjoy a nightcap after dinner!!.

First time staying at Pelican Alvor. Lovely quiet Hotel,within a 15 walk to Alvor. Room was like a large modern Apartment with all the mod cons. Breakfast was very tasty with a variety of hot food and delicious pastries.Pool area is so tranquil and restful that we actually spent a lot of time at it,something we rarely do on holidays. Extremely good value for our weeks stay. All the staff very friendly especially at check in desk who were very accomodating on our early arrival.Will definitely return next year.

We didn't include breakfast in our package as we were able to buy it in or go out early and that suited us. There is no lunch dinner option apart from a snack/sandwich bar.

Loved the friendly staff, freedom of studio with kitchen & living/dining areas. Pool area great. Rooms cleaned daily. 10 minute walk to the town - maybe 20 to the beach or 5 min drive

No transport provided by the hotel into Alvor - no room service - food only available at limited times. Mattress on the bed was very firm - not easy to sleep on. Not sufficient number of sun umbrellas for the number of sun beds.

Liked the cleanliness and space in the apartment.

The bathrooms were a little under par and the walls were marked in places. The room needed a bit of TLC. One bedside lamp didn’t work as it wasn’t plugged in and no socket near by! Expected a higher standard for the price.

The hotel and grounds were lovely. Staff very friendly. Food on the terrace at lunchtime was excellent.

Inconsistent crockery across rooms (nitpicking here), this time we had no bowls for some reason. Hotel found us a bowl on request

Third or fourth stay, year after year, love the look of the hotel, rooms are clean and modern, pool is lovely and quiet. Had breakfast at the hotel for the first time and it was great, fresh produce, lovely fruit and bread, would recommend
