Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAs some other reviewers have noted, it can be quite noisy at night due to the wine bar directly across from the apartment. This didn't bother me personally, as I can sleep through anything. My husband bought some ear plugs, though, as he had trouble sleeping the first night we were there. The bathroom on the main level of the apartment is quite spacious and we all ended up using that one for showers, as the upstairs bathroom's shower door opened to the inside, which made it impossible to actually get into the shower. These were very minor issues and overall we had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay here again.
This was the perfect apartment for our family holiday in Lisbon! The apartment is in a great area of the city and we really liked having so many restaurants and wine bars in close proximity. It was very easy to get around to different parts of the city from here, either by walking, taking the 28 Tram, walking about 10 minutes to the closest Metro station, or getting taxis or Ubers. We loved the location. The apartment itself was very clean and spacious and we had everything we needed, including a washing machine which was great for washing some clothes after a few days. It was well equipped with clean towels, plenty of dishes, a full-size refrigerator, and a dishwasher. The host, Juan, was easy to communicate with and gave us all the information we needed prior to our visit. The person who met us to hand over the keys, Sony, was also very friendly and she even brought us a box of four Pastel de Natas, which we really appreciated! She also gave us a huge list of recommended restaurants, things to do, etc. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here if you are traveling to Lisbon.

ItalyThe loft bedroom was a little awkward because of the slanted ceiling so you needed to bend over so as not to hit your head.
Close to several forms of public transportation and restaurant options. Easy to get to the main sites. Although it was above several restaurants it was quiet and we didn’t really hear any noise.

PolandThere was nothing we didn't like. There are, however, things which might be a problem for some. First of all, although the apartament is perfectly located you always have to walk up along quite a steep street to get to it. Secondly, there is a wine bar and a pizza place right opposite and under the windows which are very busy all night long. We didn't hear the noise but it is probably more of a problem in summer, high season.
The place is spacious and perfectly located although requires strong legs as it is in the hilly area. When you enter the apartament you feel like a guest at somebody's house with books, pictures and decorative objects all around. Despite those dust-catchers IT is not dusty:) the place is clean and has everything you might need. We were also allowed to check-out late without extra payment which was very convenient. The place has two separate bathrooms which is quite rare in most apartments.

BelgiumIndeed there are a wine bar, and a pizzeria downstairs en face the appartment. It doesn't give us problem. As the windows are double glass, as well as there are doors in front of each windows So in the evening, we can feel the vibes from the bar, but not noise.. i am an extreme light sleeper, it doesn't give me any problem
Very nice appartment, stylish... All the details make us feel like home.. Juan is very nice, brought us some pasta de nata as gift.. also he recommended two local restaurants which are really great. We enjoyed the stay in the appartment. It is on 2nd floor, the neighbours are quiet, no big noise in the building..

United StatesThe downstairs shower could use a bathmat, slippery.
The location and the size of the unit is great. Host -Joana was very helpful. The main level is two floors above the street with the second bath and bedroom on the next level. Lots of windows that can be opened. The upstairs bathroom is a little tight but manageable. The unit is well stocked and included a washing machine with soap, hang drying on clothes line. Bakery, market and restaurants were literally right next door or across the street. The restaurants stay open to midnight so bring earplugs. The street in front of the unit is pedestrian only no cars (early morning photo attached). Alot of other restaurants, stores and markets were within a couple minute walk. Visit -Maria Dia Sport Clube -2 minute walk up the alley great local food and great atmosphere. Play a game of pickup basketball. Major lookout over the City was a 5 minute walk - photo attached (go in the morning 8:00 am before the crowds). Graca church is a 5 minute walk The Sao Jorge Castle was a 15 minute walk. Cab station is a 2 minute walk. Cab ride from the waterfront or Santa Apolonia train station to the unit is 5 to 6 euros, Cab ride to the airport is 10 euros.

United KingdomIt wasn't a problem for us, but the restaurants on ground level, by the apartment, were noisy until late at night. We knew the apartment was on the second floor so expected the steps, but they were quite a challenge for one of our party at the end of a day of sightseeing.
The location was excellent. There were shops, including a large supermarket in easy walking distance. There were some outstanding restaurants with a good choice of food at very reasonable prices. it was easy to catch buses or trams to various locations. The apartment was very superb, it was spacious and light. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, the beds were comfortable. The sitting area was very pleasant and was a good area in which to relax with a drink.

Location was convenient. Lots of restaurants nearby and supermarkets. Very close to Tram 28 so we took a ride for a tram tour of Lisbon. Short walking distance to Miradouro for nice view of Lisbon. Apartment was well decorated and kitchen well-equipped. We had everything we needed for our stay. Would stay again on revisits and would recommend.
