Street noise and a lot of noise from the creaking floorboards of the people in the apartment above. Kitchen space and cooking facilities very limited. Only one pan on the hob at once and kitchen tap didn’t seem to run hot. Some furnishings very cheap looking eg ‘wardrobes’ which spoiled the overall aesthetic a bit.

Superb location close to the waterfront in Ribeira. Spacious attractive bedroom.

To be clear these arent things we didnt like it's just some things to be aware of. There are A LOT of stairs. this is NOT an accessible property. Parking was also a little sketchy but we lucked out with some street parking for free. I dont see that happening in the busier seasons however. Our room was very clean but It was VERY small and few more mirrors would be helpful :) there were only two little squares in the bathroom and I'm 5'11" my spouse is 6'2" so we had to crouch to see ourselves. Given the lack of space there should be more hooks everywhere. Also the rooms backs on to these stairs which are a landmark but my goodness they were noisy at all hours. Closing the window wasnt really an option because it was so hot even with the fan. I think bunk beds would suit this room beautifully and provide much needed space.

The building has been lovingly restored I think from 17 or18th century. This is very impressive and difficult I imagine. The whole place is very cool, very clean and the hosts kindly left us some welcome goodies that were very much appreciated after a long drive. We stayed in the Esnoga room. There's a gorgeous little café on the main floor fabulous coffee and great pastries in the morning and the service is great! The location of this apartment is fantastic. It was quite hot for the season and a fan was provided without having to ask. The hosts were super responsive to any questions we had. This place is really special and Im glad we got to stay here. If you're tall book a room with a balcony I can only assume the other side of the building was bigger. :) There was a little loft area that we couldnt access but looked interesting.
