Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

Very friendly and helpful staff. Walking distance to main attractions and transport. Free complimentary wine and de natas were a nice surprise. There’s also a complimentary coffee machine in reception.

I also wasn’t thrilled w/the location of my room…6th floor (elevator only goes to the 5th floor), which was only accessible by stairs and the lock to the room was very tricky to operate. Staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and greatly appreciated! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

United StatesI was not told about the construction noise that was going on outside, though I do not think it was inside the building, a notice of the noise would have been appreciated. It was during regular business hours, but had I been staying more than one night I most definitely would have asked for room to be changed. The floor creaked alot in the room and the hallways. Also there isn't really a buffer from hearing everyone in the hallway as rooms the hallway is small but maybe some extra insulation on the door would be helpful.
Loved the location of the hotel, off one of the main streets and not an easy walk to the main attractions. The lobby is glorious and inviting, the staff were highly informative and beyond pleasant.

United KingdomI didn't like having to go to another Brown's hotel for breakfast. It wasn't really a problem but I would have liked to have had a bar in the hotel where you could sit in the evening and have a drink. Instead I had to go to either Browns Boutique or Browns Central.

United KingdomThe only slight disappointment was the need to go to the sister hotel for breakfast and bar facilities but it was no hardship and just a very short walk away. We knew that when we booked.
We had a room upgrade and the room was very comfortable and stylishly furnished. The concierge and reception staff were very pleasant and helpful with their suggestions. We also enjoyed our welcome cocktail at the sister hotel.

The hotel was a great location, good for getting about the area. Plenty of bars and restaurants round about an 5 minute walk from the tube station. Hotel was clean, fresh towels every day. Front desk staff were really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay at Brown’s Downtown on my next visit to lisbon.

United StatesWe stayed at this location (Brown’s Downtown Hotel) three times over a two-week period, occupying three different rooms. The location was perfect for us. The front desk staff couldn’t have been nicer, friendlier or more helpful. Just terrific!!! Plus, our rooms were always cleaned and straightened up beautifully. Thank you also to those ladies! Breakfasts were at Brown’s Central Hotel about a block away and were great. We grabbed a few bites at Brown’s Bistro (part of Brown’s Boutique), about a 1/2 block away. Bottom line: We want to go back!!! And many thanks again to everyone who works at these locations. . . the best!
