Just be careful which way you approach the place. I was on a motorbike so it was fine for me but Google will try and send you up some extremely narrow streets.

What a special place to stay. It was a highlight of my trip. Miguel is the perfect host. It's particularly good if you're a solo traveller like I was (on my motorbike) as all the guests have dinner together at one big table along with wines from the winery. I met some lovely people and had a lot of fun, I'd highly recommend!

We loved everything EXCEPT the drive up through the village where the roads are steep and thin. Follow signs for CC in the town NOT Google maps as Google puts you through some crazy back streets.

Casa Cimeira was a wonderful and unique experience. The room was large and comfortable with a king sized bed and private bath. Spotlessly clean. Their own brand of port was delicious. But the best thing was the experience of sitting around a common table and eating a delicious meal with couples from around the world, literally breaking bread together. On our night there were couples from Canada, Germany, US, Canada, Finland and Israel. A multi course feast was served with skill and the conversation flowed as did the wine. The views of the property and the Duaro Vally were gorgeous.

We spent an amazing time at this guest house and the host was super friendly and helpful. The view is wonderful as is the wine they produce that was offered to all guests in the social area for tasting. We will come back for sure and this time try their dinner serving.

On Booking.com there is a posting for a washer and dryer available. This is NOT true. Since we are traveling for three weeks, this was a major factor in our choice of accommodation. The stay was wonderful, but the website should be truthful.

Miguel was heroic in his hospitality. He reminded me of Jack Aubery played by Russell Crowe in Master and Commander. Full of confidence with a cheeky grin knowing he was giving us such luxurious treatment. Big glass of delicious port on arrival followed by a three course dinner (for just 30 euros) with endless bottles of wine each night. The quinta itself if perched on top of one of many of the spectacular valley views of the Douro and there are many great walks to be done. It was unfortunately a little chilly to take full advantage of their lovely pool but in the summer it would be so nice.

I would appreciate driving directions to find the parking. I ended up trying to drive through the small streets in the town even though there was another better way to get to the parking lot.

My Dad and I arrived in the afternoon and the host greeted us warmly and showed us to our room. We loved the views of the Douro from the small town. The room was wonderful and accommodating. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast the next day.

Wonderful place to stay. We had a huge room with doors opening to a garden area. Comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast with lots of choice of bread, cheese and meats. The dinner option is a must….extremely good value…..3 courses served with their own wine and port at the end by the fire for us which was lovely. Ate with the other guests at one large table…..highly recommend. Staff friendly. It was pouring with rain when we arrived and we were ushered into the lounge to sit by the fire and given a glass of port to welcome us. It would be amazing to stay in summer as have a pool and great views. Roads are narrow to reach but well sign posted and yes follow their signs and don’t take the turn google maps suggest (like another review).

Rooms were incredibly comfortable. Miguel was amazing! Dinner was great with a lot of delicious wine. The pours at dinner were quite generous…. Gathering with a glass of pre-dinner wine starts at 7:30 pm and dinner starts at 8 pm. If you are questioning whether or not to stay, don’t think twice and book this amazing place. Do keep in mind that the drive to the property is uphill and tight streets. Follow the very clear signs for the best path and you will be fine.
