The restaurant was really good, but is located 600 meters from the main house so you need to walk quite a bit. The swimming pool is unheated and the water was very cold, even though it was hot outside. The hotel is rather isolated, you need a car to go anywhere interesting.

The hotel is very beautiful, in the style of an old hacienda house, in the middle of vinyard fields. The room was very spacious and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the vinyards. The hotel is part of a wine/port production (Quinta del Portal) and the cellars can be visited nearby.

We stayed in the family room which was not part of the main building so had to walk for breakfast, pool, etc. Air conditioning in our room was suspect and property manager did not seem to know how to operate it.

The windy road getting to the Quinta.

The property is situated on a lovely vineyard. The road getting to the property was a bit windy. We had a lovely stay and our room had a great view of the vineyard. We had dinner at the restaurant in Quinta do Portal. It was a great dinner. It was a set price dinner. The food was great although a bit pricey.

The reception, restaurant and rooms all are a good 5-10 min walk away from each other. The restaurant while excellent is fine dining with limited food options. So you might not go there more than once in your stay. And the region is full of wine estates so there are not many restaurants in the vicinity, and those that are there offer similar type of food. It's better to sort out dinner plans in advance for each day of stay. The wine tasting has no non-alcoholic drinks for kids.

The hotel is located in a beautiful wine estate. The place has a vintage feel. The staff are helpful, the amenities are good. It is also easy to reach by car and once inside, there are clear directions to find the different buildings. The breakfast offered was fresh and tasty. They even started early for us since we had to catch a flight. The restaurant is near Michelin level quality and service. The wines on offer were fantastic. The wine info and tasting tour in their winery was also very good. Overall, the price for the quality offered for everything at the hotel is great. Very much recommended!

Absolutely stunning building and decor with spectacular views of the countryside. Lovely restaurant a short walk away with prix fixe menu. Lovely central rooms to relax in and room was terrific.

The heat in the rooms wasn’t the most powerful for the chilly nights we were there, but was adequate. We also had a bit of trouble figuring out where to park at the restaurant for dinner, especially because it was so dark at night, but everything worked out, and we ultimately had one of our favorite dinners of the trip there!

We went during off peak season, and they kindly offered to upgrade our one family room to two smaller rooms! It’s a simple, beautiful, and peaceful place to stay. The included breakfast was delicious! Value of the booking (breakfast, wine tour, stay) was great for the price.

The hotel location is a bit hard to find. It is about 500 meters off the road behind one of their two wine buildings.

Of there is any room for improvement I would recommend more Portuguese pastry on breakfast, it was a good breakfast table already, and adding more of all deliciousness from Portugal to it will make it unstoppable!!

There are not much dining options except for the property’s restaurant, which we dis not enjoy too much.

Located in a beautiful vineyard, an amazing house with big living areas and gorgeous pool. It was nice to sit by the pool, take a stroll in the vineyard, or just have a glass of wine on the sofa.

Gorgeous location. Great pool and area. Great breakfast. The restaurant attached to the hotel had a phenomenal dinner and the views were incredbile. great staff at the restaurant and the tour of the vineyard was well done and interesting. I loved the fact that you could buy wine from a refrigerator by the glass or bottle, as well as other cold drinks, and write down your name and add it to your room tab. The prices were great as well.

A beautiful estate situated between vineyards. Very peaceful. The hotel is a few 100 meters from the winery and a great restaurant which also belongs to the estate. We didn't use the pool because it was a rainy day. The hotel has several beautifully decorated rooms where you can just relax or a balcony to look at the vineyards.
