This is an exceptional hotel. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was lovely with great attention to detail. The breakfast was the best we’ve ever had in a hotel. A fantastic stop along the Camino.

Everything was just great. The welcome drink, the unique camino stamp, the museum tour, the chocolates in the room. Room was abit small, only because we had 2 luggages. Breakfast was simply marvellous. Just wished I had more time to linger & enjoy the spread & hot chocolate.

The concept for the hotel was fabulous, the themed rooms and chocolate inspired interior was fantastic. The staff where exceptionally helpful. Breakfast was served to your table and was really good and they made dietary adjustments for my sister who had allergies. The location was perfect to explore the city and was just a short walk to the riverside and restaurants and shops. I picked the location for the Etape Portugal cycle race and it was minutes away from the start line. I really enjoyed the museum as well and the adjoining shop all about the history of chocolate. A wonderful few days and would love to come back and explore more of the area in the future.

Everything! Beautiful luxurious hotel right on the Camiño! Very clean and comfortable and the staff was exceptional! They insisted on preparing us a wonderful breakfast to go the next morning, since we were leaving out early.

The museum was intersting. Friendly helpful staff. Well equipped room,. kettle and drink selection welcome. Breakfast was ample with plenty of chocolate. Good restaurants within easy walking distance.

Nothing really, the view from the window can be a bit poor as the hotel is built into the old Chocolate factory. We suggest you ask for a room with a balcony like our room, room 3.

The breakfast was excellent and is made on demand, this does mean that they ask you to take a time slot, although they are flexible. The location is not in the centre but it is only a 5 minute walk, it is also 5 minutes to the river front and 10/12 minutes to the station. This was good for us as we took the train to the beaches up the coast to Caminha, Moledo, Ancora, Afife every day.

Hotel,,location and staff totally exceeded all our expectations. The little touches and breakfast were phenomenal. It was also right on the camino with wax to boot! Thank you for everything it was fantastic value for money and a real treat from the more stereotypical pilgrim hostels.

Noise from road. Big vehicles using road outside during the night and municipal big bins being emptied at around midnight.

Having to leave!

Fabulous concept and amazing features throughout. The staff were exceptional and the room exquisite. Lots of extra touches e.g. fridge, kettle, selection of teas/coffees…and a personalised bar of chocolate! Delicious breakfast included.

We loved our stay, but thought there would be more of the original chocolate factory within the hotel. Breakfast which was included in room price, was excellent. Staff were very helpful recommending an excellent restaurant nearby which actually served vegetarian food!

We did not have our room cleaned even though we left the Notice on the door and the cleaning trolley was outside. We went to breakfast and then were out all morning. There is no Mini Bar anymore and the kettle cannot fit under the tap so you have to use a glass to fill it & there was no milk. Only one small bottle of water provided for 2 people
