I always had a very good experience with the staff but one morning the lady responsible for the breakfast was not at all polite when lots of guests were waiting and somebody made a mistake to enter the breakfast room at 6:56 as it is open from 7am.

I booked this hotel several times also for the member of the family. Staff is extremely pleasant and the location perfect as it has a metro access Plombal just at the end of the Avenida. Plenty of eating places and little shops around. We had fabulous breakfast and very comfortable room though this time it was the smaller one because I asked for a quiet room. There is a beautiful inner garden view.

Get down to breakfast early to not miss out on a pastel de nata. It would be a little nicer if the nata were warm!! But everything was delicious at breakfast

I found a spot on the duvet cover when went to sleep on the first night and some body hair on the shower and sink

Shower head didn't always stay upright and shower doors hard to close straight, but was fine once you got used to it. Hairdryer plug casing kept falling off but still worked, just a little annoyance. A lot of noise from traffic, but the air con helped to drown it out after first night.

Convenient location, near to transport (metro and buses), park, shopping, cash points and food (cafe around the corner for breakfast if needed). Air con worked well and bedding was comfortable. Garden area was very nice and chill.

Only a small thing: Having one luggage rack, two would have been better for us.

This hotel is very well located to the Mq. Pombal metro station. Parque Eduardo VII, and Av da Liberdade, so it's easy to get to Time Out Market, the Alfama, and everywhere The reception staff was exceptionally friendly and helped us with answers to our many questions. More than anything, Fenix Garden gets five stars for their very comfortable beds & bathroom, with a shelf under the sink to hold all of our travel items. You don't know how important this is until you're in a typical European bathroom with only one towel hook and no counter space. AND, there was a full-length mirror in the bedroom so one of us could use it when someone else was in the bathroom. Because we were two friends traveling together, the only thing we lacked was a second luggage rack. There was also a very convenient mini frig in our room, as well as a personal safe in the closet. The morning breakfast downstairs offered abundant options. We especially liked being able to make our own coffee from the espresso machine. We also enjoyed the fresh fruit, breads, yogurt, cheeses, hard-boiled eggs, and cold cuts. There was even turkey ham! We highly recommend it!

The sound-proofing could be better like many hotels. The built in hairdryer needed a firm grip to turn it on and my wife found it difficult to do this and brush her hair without the hairdryer cutting out.
