How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Location is very far from the centre, public transport is nearby but very less frequency and not proper timing. . Public transport is costly and time consuming. Room cleaning not done regularly may be once in a week.
Good staff , wifi, clean bedsheet and towel, kitchen. The toilet is cleaned.

Bunk beds could have been a bit more substantial. This is a common issue in hostels.
The location was excellent. It is within a reasonable walking distance of the main bus terminal in Albufeira and has a major grocery store (with outside laundry kiosk) close by.

Tow little girl Manage this Hotel，I feel the bosses don't care this Property？ At first they tell me I can't park my car in The hotel’s yard， Later they let my car inside As they show on the web.

Clean and quiet. It is in a quiet street behind a big supermarket and a gas station.. The beach is €1.90 away and if you are brave enough you can walk the 3miles.

I asked for a lower bunk due to a disability and was given an upper bunk even though the place wasn’t full. They have a cat that sneaks in and sleeps in the beds who is super cute and friendly but as someone with an allergy I was happy to have a sleeping bag with me. The receptionist didn’t speak enough English to understand my request to change. As others have said, no locks on the room doors. Also, the location is fine with a car but without one would be completely inaccessible.
Cool building with good common spaces if there had been more people staying during my trip. The place was clean and comfortable. The cat that sneaks in is adorable.

There is no staff on site after 10pm - and the people on the 1st floor never really complies with the quiet rule 10pm to 8am.

Often no toilet paper in the bathrooms, very limited kitchen facilities with only 2 bowls and blunt/broken utensils available. The staff were very sourly and often rude to guests, not explaining things clearly and seemed annoyed if you had questions. Outside space covered in ants and flies.
The beds were comfortable and linen changed daily.

Location is not great at all. Quite far from the city centre and any beach. But I guess you can see that from the description of the place. Buses are rather infrequent, so I ended up either walking or getting a Bolt. I felt like there were not enough bathrooms and showers for the number of people in the hostel
Was able to store my belongings in a locker before check in. Lockers are available for all guests - can either use one with your own lock or you can use a locker with key (5 euro deposit in case you lose it). There was a cat around the hostel most of the time which was great. There is a big supermarket nearby - 5mins walk. Swimming pool, but quite small

The shower was broken : the door could not shut, buttons were broken and there were moisture. You need a car to go to the strip, the town or the beach Staff could be a little more friendly. But they were only 2 so I guess it s not easy.
Nice villa, with two terrasse and a pool People are respectfull for the noise. Easy to park
