There appears to be a management issue with this beautiful property. Stained carpets in the sitting areas/ bar, as well as in hallways, some sofas in the common areas appear to be quite worn, some outdoor chairs are unraveling. These are all issues that can be fixed adult and without spending a lot of money. The place has such an upscale feel to it, and should be managed as such.

The hotel is in a converted convent with some modern additions. The rural setting is magical, and the hotel is magnificent. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with equally spacious bathrooms. The spa, indoor pool, outdoor pool, the courtyards and the gardens are all beautiful.

The cats jumping to our table outside while eating wasnt so nice, but we guess they are used to be feed by other guests.

Great service in general. The restaurant staff member Jilson was exceptionally kind and professional. He made us feel special and did his best to accommodate our request.

Rooms are very well laid out - I like a firm bed but if you like soft mattress you might be disappointed.

There was a dog that barked constantly all night long not to far from our room 108 (but outside the pousada of course). That really disturbed our sleep and didn't not at all match the tranquility of the daytime and area. The bed was painfully hard to sleep on. We stayed in a hotel in Serpa the night before and compared to the breakfast we got there and being a Pestana hotel we felt the breakfast was nothing special (bacon hard as a biscuit and not tasty either), no toaster, coffee machine didn't make proper café etc...

Absolutely wonderful pousada and surroundings. The chapel took our breath away. Lovely and friendly staff. Stunning views from the pool and breakfast area. Quiet and relaxing stay. Welcoming water, fruit and chocolate was a wonderful touch!

over crowded pool area with no staff control. Guests leave their towels and belongings on the reclining chairs all day and don’t give other guests the opportunity to use them. Staff or hotel policy can have better management of implementing rules for all guests to have the chance to use the pool area.

No reply to email sent two days before check in requesting the spa schedule and prices. Difficult to find sauna due to bad signalling. The sauna was switched off in spite of previous booking. No shower in sauna room. The water in internal pool is cold. At the first breafast instead of a smile we were welcomed with a disapointed look from the waitress. Defficient refill of buffet. The dishes were wet and not properly cleaned.

needing a bit of maintenance. room smelled of mould in spite of their effort to “burn” it by leaving the air conditioning at 30 degrees. fortunately the good weather allowed us to open the windows. it also seems like they are cutting down on staff, who were great but don’t seem to be enough for the scale of the hotel.

The reception were not checking vaccine certifications, unlike anywhere i visited on the whole trip. That seemed disrespectful of the staff to allow them to be exposed in such a manner, and of course those of us who were vaccinated and want the assurance that everyone was. We did not get that assurance.

Breakfast was outstanding dinner less so. I ordered lamb and some breaded dry thing was served to me that was not at all tasty. The next night was better. Our room was beautiful including the view. The actual building is a wonderful restoration. I have been before in the spring for lunch.

Understaffed!!!!!! We had to chase someone down to serve us in the bar, when we got there they told us the restaurant was closed then we found out it was open that night! Have stayed in Pousadas before that were amazing but not this one.

Rooms felt like a dorm room and beds were very hard Room was hot and stuffy given the location and when I asked to switch, the person who checked us in was angry, but she did switch us.

Absolutely nothing to dislike

Absolutely amazing. What a fantastic conversion. The pool area was fantastic. The whole building was just 🤩. Then the food was delicious. What an awesome place to stay. Also we got complimentary chilled wine chocolate and water for booking with booking.com which was a lovely surprise

Very dated and the photographs of the rooms are old and not up to date. Breakfast was meant to start at 8, the chef reluctantly unlocked the door at 8:30, but only finished putting the breakfast out after 9:00. There were no napkins, we had to ask for one which the chef then offered us a paper one out of a plastic bag.
