Fernanda was the on property host. She and her sisters Rosa and Lucia were fabulous. Fernanda went out of her way to make our stay the very best.

Nothing! Everything was perfect to the extent that we stayed an extra night because we didn’t want to leave!

Everything about this place is charming. Our cottage was cosy and warm, with a fireplace. It had ample space, and the lovely grounds of the vineyard and farm were beautiful to walk around. But the best part of all was Fernanda, who brought us a delicious and hearty lunch and dinner each day, and who is some kind of angel of a human being! Thanks Fernanda!

We had a fantastic time. The property is lovely, a beautiful location in the valley with stunning views. The best part about our stay was Fernanda. She is a very friendly and fantastic cook, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the property each day. For dinner, we enjoyed the roast beef, roast lamb and cod for each day with fresh vegetables and fruits from the garden. All cooked to perfection and massive portions. There is an honesty bar at the pool and we enjoyed lovely wine made by the vineyard. You can get a taxi from Ermida train station so very easy to get to the property.

We had a fantastic 2 days! We stayed in the swimmingpool house: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen/dining/livingroom. It was a clean and spacious apartment. Breakfast and dinner was served in the apartment which was great with our 2 small kids. Fernanda is such a lovely, warm hearted woman and she made us feel right at home. Her cooking is also superb. The grounds are spacious and there is a lot of entertainment possible for kids: pool, tennis, volleyball, basketball, pingpong. And the views are beautiful as well. It is a quiet area so you can really relax. Our kids (3yo and 1yo) felt very welcome and we had everything we needed for them as well. Best place we have stayed at in a long time and we wished we could have stayed longer.

A dishwasher would have been convenient (but as a service Francesca took our dishes to the main house and returned them the next day, how lovely!). We would also suggest to lend/rent out new tennis rackets and tennis balls. That way they remain in good shape.

We loved this accommodation. The beautiful main house and our cosy country cottage, the surrounding garden and estate, the swimming pool and our lovely host Francesca! She was warm and caring and a wonderful cook. With her team she offered us a variety of dishes and delivered them to our cottage. The estate also offers good wines.

Quinta de quimares is such a beautiful place! In the middle of the vines. A nice swimmingpool with a great view over the vines. And the best of all: our host Fernanda! She made us feel very welcome and she is a great cook. She uses all kinds of vegetables from the garden. We would love to go back again in the future.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful oasis. We stayed in the casa de mata house with friends and family and it was absolutely beautiful. We had a gorgeous view and fernanda was the most wonderful host and cook! We ate two breakfasts and dinners there and they were all exceptional! We loved hanging by the pool and looking at the view from our outdoor dining area! Can’t wait to come back and bring more friends!!

Stunning place kept in the old Quinta style charming way - beautiful gardens and pool but the highlight was without doubt Fernanda who made our stay priceless. We stayed in Casa de Vinha which was very modern and much bigger than expected - amazing private spot with best views of the vineyards

That we couldn’t stay longer!

A stunning property located in a vineyard above the Douro River. Magnificent hostess, Fernanda, who was very welcoming and a great cook! Spacious grounds and characterful old main building with a number of rooms with separate detached accommodation on the property. One of our most enjoyable travel experiences.

We had the separate apartment with large living / dining room incl. small kitchen, two bedrooms and bathroom. For breakfast (and if you wanted dinner) the meals were brought over from the main building. Cooking was extraordinarily good with mainly local product. Great views into the valley, nice pool for refreshment. The grounds are very well maintained with beautiful gardens.

Amazing experience at Quinta De Guimaraes. The property is beautiful and relaxing, with stunning views of the Douro valley. The host, Fernanda, is so kind, hospitable, and a great cook! We really enjoyed the dinner she made for us, plus the amazing breakfasts. Fernanda’s cooking was better than any restaurant we visited on our trip to Portugal. We’d love to come back one day!

This stay was a treasure. Casa de Mata was well-appointed with comfortable beds and delicious food and wine in a breath-taking setting. Fernanda was an amazing cook and host. A luxurious and peaceful stay that was worth it.

Towels were rough and though generous in size, felt like they were dried outside.

Breakfast was served when we were ready for it. A generous arrray of breads, fruit, fresh orange juice, yoghurts, and more. Outdoor gardens, forest, and property invited wandering and short walks.

Our stay was too short.

The whole family loved this farm. It was quiet and relaxing with plenty to do if you choose to do so. (Pool, tennis, game room, in season harvest grapes activities, hiking) Cutting grapes and stomping them was a favorite for the kids. Mine was hiking and taking in the beauty of the farm. The meals made by the host were the most amazingly delicious home-made meals with fresh fruit and veggies from the property. Completely worth it, to stay in and enjoy the inviting comfy cozy cottage. The host was a gem, a sweet lady who helped to make out visit perfect. Thank you!

The cottage did not have wifi but we had lots of data so it was not an issue.

Very spacious and quiet, unique cottage type apartment. We enjoyed the dinners prepared by Frenanda and her sister. And of course the vinho verde prepared on the estate. We walked around the estate, enjoyed grapes off the vine, vistas of the Douro, the family dogs and donkey. The garden is beautiful, all organic and used to prepare our dinners.
