Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

20 out of 10!!! Exceptional!!! I was met by lovely ladies. So happy and welcoming, explained how everything works. The place was spotless, beautiful, quiet and felt like home. Honestly, I really didn’t want yo leave. Room was so comfy, the entire place was decorated in whimsical-manner. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything I would need if I wanted to cook. Breakfast was exceptional! Just wonderful place in general!!! Highly recommend.

First the greeting received was so nice at the end of a day walking. I was able to check in early, because my room was ready. Very large room on the third floor. View of the castle. Location was exceptional. Everything was nearby and literally out the front door.

PortugalThe room had a little kitchen with a minifridge and coffee machine. It was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. Also, there were a lot of spare electric outlets.

AustraliaThe only downside was that breakfast didn’t start until 8.30 which was too late for pilgrims with a big day ahead.
Excellent find and very close to the Camino trail. Several restaurants and a small grocer nearby. We had a kitchen with coffee pods and a small, sunny patio.

PortugalThe only issue I found was that there is no parking available and the free parking available in town is quite limited.
The location is amazing, the room comes with a kitchenette which is very helpful and they also provided a crib which is a bonus when travelling with kids.

What a wonderful place. Centrally located, I had a view of the Convent of Christ. Great bathroom with rainhead shower. Very nice breakfast. The staff was absolutely fantastic.

United StatesThe Guest House is in a busy street and it was difficult to find a place to park to unload our luggage. I think is better to go directly to the parking lot across the river, park and then unload/load your luggage there.
Beautiful modern room and bathroom, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Lovely hosts, they were super friendly and helpful. The location is superb, right in the center of Tomar. Good tasty breakfast buffet-style, very convenient. There are two big parking lots across the river where you can park for free. We had a wonderful time during our stay.

PortugalLiked everything.
Fantastic location, easy to find, friendly staff and easy check-in. Liked the "keyless" room entry (keypad to enter a code). Rooms are basic but well kept and clean and roomy. Room was super quiet with a wonderful view of the castle (we were in the Convento de Cristo room on the 3rd floor. Two suggestions...longer and more wide curtains to block out the light during the day better. Remove the "step" at the end of the bed. While it's bit fun and provides another seat, when getting up in the night, remembering that the step is there is tough and makes it a bit dangerous (especially for kids or older people)

United KingdomThe refuse collection ( outside opposite the hotel) is noisy in the early morning if your room is at the front of the building but we’ve stayed and heard it before, it’s not a deal breaker!
Location excellent, hotel good, breakfast simple but nice quality, if mobility is an issue probably won’t manage all the stairs but nice place to stay in centre of town. Great base for exploring Tomar and local area, stayed before and would highly recommend.
