“Quirky ancient family home for 400 years, last decorated in 1970s. Host entertained us with family history and culture of the area including some guitar serenades”
“It wasn't a surprised as to why this establishment has a very high reviewer rating - it’s because the host, Jean, runs it with passion. Staying here is like visiting a friend. He welcomes his guests with warmth hospitality and generosity. He ensures that we were comfortable and at home. The room was nicely presented, clean and the bed was good. The bedsheets also smells nice and fresh. Breakfast was delicious and hearty. Suffice to say, I concur with all the good reviews about this place.
Merci beaucoup Jean and we wish you all the best on your future plans. You are indeed a super host 🤗! Highly recommended!!”
“I liked everything about the property! The host was very attentive and helpful and nice to chat to. Wish we’d been able to stay there longer. Would come back. It’s a 15 minute walk into the town centre which was fine for us but perhaps not what everyone would want.”
“A very quiet location in a small, picturesque village in the heart of Dordogne, but within reach of many towns, villages and sites of interest. The house has been renovated to a high standard.
Our host, Bernard, was very charming, friendly and helpful. He is also an excellent chef and the dinners he served us were delicious as well as being good value. Breakfast was also very good. Bernard recommended a couple of nearby restaurants, one of which we tried (La Petite Tonnelle, Beynac) and found it to be as good as he said.
Bernard does not speak English, although he understands some; we were able to hold conversations with our rusty French.”
“Big space both upstairs and down and very helpful owners who provided cold milk for our morning coffee and also hard boiled eggs from their chickens who were roaming the lovely garden. Much appreciated little touches.”
“It was exceptionally clean and bright. The decor of the room was lovely. Everything that could be needed was provided. Being situated on the outskirts of Villeneuve-sur-Lot meant that it was nice and quiet. The breakfast provided was typical French with pastries, bread, yoghurt, tea and coffee.”
