“They have a water filter which I was very pleased about, so you don't have to go out and buy water bottles and there's no fee to use it! Nice pool and library of books. Bed was comfortable and has a mosquito net.”

“The hostel was fairly basic but was affordable for a private room, and was very spacious. Although it was great to have so much space, the one small fan provided didn't give a lot of air movement to the humid environment. We were only there for one night so can't comment on the staff but they seemed relatively friendly. The breakfast was very basic but the pool was great to help with the humidity. The view was great from the top.”

“Rosa's House is an amazing place just outside the city of Puerto Maldonado. Rosa and Elvis make you feel at home and they have a very affectionate dog (Kira). My Spanish is not great but it is nice to practice it here because they are very patient. The food that Rosa cooks is local and tastes great. Their garden borders the jungle and Elvis gave us a nighttour twice. We saw tarantula's, snakes and porcupines. I am so happy that we stayed here and I would recommend this place to anyone!”

The host whom I want to call Mama Rosa was just so nice, kind, and warm-hearted lady. On my arrival, she welcomed me with a warm hug and took a very good care of me. I had her home cooked dinners and breakfast (20 soles each). Her cooking was lovely and filling. I can see why everyone who stayed in this place was so satisfied and happy.
