“Breakfast was fine. Location, less than 10 minutes walk from the bus station, and under a half hour walk to the football stadium, Paksi FC, the reason for my visit.
Chap at reception wa very helpful with info on how to get to the stadium, and info about the 'village', as he called it.”
“Excellently furnished and designed accommodation in the heart of Szekszárd. The beds were so comfortable, the shower hot and good pressure and the quiet area was perfect for a good sleep. Check in was via the Kávéház next door, which seemed really nice with some good looking cakes on offer.
There were other guests but we didn't hear a thing and in the morning they said they thought they were alone so sound insulation must be very good. The central kitchen and dining area was well stocked with a kettle, microwave, lots of crockery, pans, wine glasses and mugs etc, and a fridge. All you need.
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed as it was a national holiday but there were other places just along the same street that were open, plenty of choice. Parking is on the street less than a minute walk just up around the corner and you have to pay, cash only, 400ft for one hour, minimum 100ft, from 7.30am - 5.30pm except Sundays. Rather annoyingly you can't put "extra" money in to take you into the next day so you do have to be there at 7.30 to either leave or feed the meter. But there are lots of spaces all along the streets. We would stay here again, for sure. Try the Irsai Oliver wine in the Purple Rabbit two doors down. Lovely wine, good atmosphere in the bar. Don't try the cuvée from a plastic bottle in another bar with a mildly threatening vibe called the Black Elephant nearer Auchan. Paint stripper.”
“The room was clean and comfortable, and there were only a few of us, so the sauna was like a private place 🤗 the staff was very kind, helpful, and professional. We would like to be back!”
