Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe homemade wine wasn’t the greatest, but what should one realistically expect from home brew? Breakfast starts at 10am, which is a bit late with kids and foe getting to the sights early.
Rustic charm in a lovely old saxon village. Off the main road, but accessible and good striking distance to other historic sites. We arrived at dinner time and asked in advance for a meal to be prepared. The food was excellent. Kids enjoyed the cats.

United StatesWonderful property in a picturesque Saxon village. The apartment is comfortable and stays cool even during hot days. The beds are comfortable. One has to be aware that the main entrance of this apartment is shared with the attic apartment that can be rented by others. This didn’t bother us. Cosmina, the property manager, has been wonderful and was very helpful anytime we needed something.

FranceIt really would be great if there was a way to improve privacy - the house is old and probably made for a family so this was not a problem back then I suppose. We all appreciated the effort to preserve the original architecture of the place. However, it was awkward to have to pass through another room whenever we needed to get to the common spaces, or to be the ones whose sleeping space is splat in the middle of the house.
Everyone was very nice and accommodating. We stayed there in the winter and enjoyed the cosy atmosphere and lovely firestoves in the downstairs rooms. Breakfast was abundant and home-made. The village is quite interesting - it's off the beaten track and hasn't really "made it", in the way that some of the other similar places in the area have.

RomaniaWater is limited, but for me this is part of an authentic experience!
I expected to see a touristic location, with cheap finishes in a traditional manner. It exceeded my expectations from all points of view, as the house was an art/museum, not a regular accommodation. Everything was very clean and well kept. Also the modern elements(lights,pipes,etc...) were harmoniously combined with the old architecture and furniture of the house creating a cozy and relaxing experience. Also the village was very traditional, with regular people on the street (not so touristic), so you get a full authentic experience. If you are looking for an authentic experience of a traditional house/village, but also nice comfort (not luxury), I fully recommend this place!

RomaniaThe room was an attic, well refurbished - but still an attic. Difficult to carry luggages up the stairs. There was no wifi, no TV or any minibar content in the room. The lady that let us in required calling 1 h before arriving than 20.min before arriving.... The location is well away from any decent restaurant - the closest we found were in Viscri, a min 20 min drive. If you settle for a modest place, you can find a restaurant 10-15 min drive away.
The room was renovated with taste, my daughter actually loved it The place was really clean and welcoming The common/ breakfast area is really nice - unfortunatelly all you can serve in the evening is water or tea... Breakfast ok

RomaniaThe fact that its not specified that you dont event get a bottle of water and the nearest supermarket is in other villages 10km away or in Sighișoara. You dont have a restaurant nearby so if the host is not offering you dinner you will starve a bit. You can go to Viscri or to Crit but most of the good places offer restaurant facilities only to their guests. Not all rooms have a kitchenette where you can make yourself a coffee. You have the possibility to go and stay in the big building where they serve breakfast but again only a boiled water tea or ness. When we were there the lady and some guy who manage the place had a birthday party of a friend of theirs and they were too loud for my taste at lest thats why you want to go in a place like this for the silence otherwise you can always stay in a city or go in a club. Maybe I'm too ezoteric but the old furniture has bad energy but maybe it's just my feeling.
