How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Only a very small minus on the pillow that was too thick for me.
One of my favourite places to stay while in Bucharest. Clean, central, quiet in a busy city and very pittoresque.

I have no complaints with this Hotel everything was perfect
The location was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful, when i arrived late at night, the staff member showed me around and to my room, there is a 24 hour bar, and the hotel is spotlessly clean and peaceful at night.

Everything is perfect!!
It is located in a quiet location, got a terrace outside which is nice, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy 🤍 I will definitely go back there! 🫶

Literally the only thing that would have made this a better experience would have been to have tea/coffee facilities in the room, otherwise it was great.
We got such a warm welcome to the hotel from the staff - they were all so nice. The rooms are clean, comfortable and a decent size. The location is pretty good - it's tucked away a couple of minutes' walk off a main road so it's quiet but easy enough for transport links (bus) and it's easy to get a Bolt car if you don't want to walk into the main areas like the Old Town (around 20 mins walk).

For the price, nothing.
To reach Bucharest I had flown via two airports and been travelling for nearly 20 hours. I arrived at check-in and was immediately greeted by a friendly member of staff and seconds later by a second who presented me with a small cup of hot milky tea. Such a simple thing to do. That tea was so refreshing and such a lovely start to my stay after a long day of travelling. That has never happened to me when I stay at 4 or 5 star hotels.

The pillows. Way way to hard.
The staff were amazing and attentive. The rooms lovely. Location close to some very nice restaurants and local attractions are easy to get to by public transport or a brisk walk. If I am ever in Bucharest again I certainly would stay here again.

Not real close to a metro station, would be good to have tea making facilities in room (easy to get from below so not really a problem).
Close to good coffee, restaurants. Friendly helpful staff. Near-ish to supermarket. Quiet area away from main Rd. Nice beers at the bar.

The walls are incredibly thin. The room next door had an alarm (just on vibrate) that went off for nearly 20 minutes and I could hear it clear as day. Plus the pillows need an upgrade.
The location was excellent. It was easy to get around everywhere and was a very reasonable price. All the hotel’s employees were so friendly and helpful.

The fridge was leaking and there wasn’t any tourist attractions nearby. But that wasn’t a problem since I used the Metro down the road.
The staff were very welcoming and the service was good. I also like the style of the hotel and the design.

Michelangelo is in the center of the city but jjst off if a major street and feels very quiet and comfortable like an oasis. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The price is very reasonable, especially considering the location and quality.

The shower is see through and separate from the bathroom, so not that much privacy 😄
We loved our stay. We were greeted warmly on our arrival and immediatly felt welcome. The superior room is very spacious and comfortable. The Hotel is very centrally located and yet very quiet; exactly what we were hoping for. Make sure to check out the hotel’s spa, we loved it. We’ll be sure to return on our next trip to Bucharest.
