Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNoise. Unfortunately, I had the experience of some younger guests, who drank alcohol and smoke on balcony next to my room all night. I asked the group to quieten at 3am, 3 45am but with alcohol in their system , voices, louder and louder. I took a night trip to reception at 4am but with no results. Loud voices +++ + No action from staff. Finally at 6am they went to bed. I had no sleep all night. The noise continued the next day even though they had booked out partying, drinking and loud voices continued all day. No action by staff . I would never stay here again and I would not recommend it.
Central location.

New ZealandI did not like the lack of soap in the restaurant bathroom (chef didn't wash hands). I didn't like the very outdated and poor quality rooms. Food was absolute rubbish, and no chance I would ever recommend.
I liked the idea of the King Solomon hotel. Reasonable price, reasonable location. Air conditioning effective in the rooms.

AustraliaThe very loud, live music from midnight to 2.00am on the Thursday before the long weekend - (apparently it is normally Friday nights )
Breakfast is excellent. The rooms are basic but clean, with good air-conditioning and fans. The staff are friendly and very helpful.

AustraliaTHE WORST hotel experience we’ve ever had! (And we are seasoned budget travellers who have put up with some dodgy rooms in the past) First day we arrive, no toilet paper in the room and only 1 towel for a room that has a queen and a single bed. Second day, housekeeping knocks and before we can answer the door, they’re gone. They don’t come back that day so no towels or toilet paper again. Third day, housekeeping comes, we get toilet paper (yay) they take the single towel and then don’t replace it so now we have no towels at all. I generally have a “you get what you pay for” attitude but call me crazy, I expect even the cheapest hotels to provide toilet paper at least! I suppose we could have walked back down then up the 4 flights of stairs to ask reception for towels at 10pm at night when we got back. On the last night I actually did otherwise no shower for us! Staff were completely unapologetic. The cable car was slow, unreliable, at times under maintenance, and other times had a piercing alarm going off. Also, we paid for 3days of internet which we expected to be for access for our room. NOPE, 1 device only! Then on day 2 when we showed them that my phone had broken that day (the 1 device that was connected to the internet we paid for) they refused to allow us to connect another device or give us a new code so we weren’t even able to use the service we paid them for. On top of all this, the hotel asked us to drop keys at the counter before going out (weird but fine by us). We dropped our keys in the morning, reception had a shift change, then that evening we asked for the key to our room from someone behind the desk we’d never seen before. They just handed them over without double checking who we were or anything! Needless to say, we stored anything of value in our friend’s hotel room at the Heritage. The aircon was also lacking a remote (I had to stand on a chair to reach the button to turn it on), it made weird noises, and was duct-taped together.

Solomon IslandsI always stay at the King Sol when I go to Honiara. I keep my expectations realistic, especially after the pandemic, however it’s clear from my last few trips that the owners are not keeping up with maintenance. The lift has been broken for 12 months, our room had a rat problem, they really need to pick up their game.

SerbiaRoom could be renovated a bit, place of the hotel in not on the beach/seaside, but that is not the problem since it is 5 min walk... Beaches can be reached by taxi or by local crowded buses. Wifi is available only at the hotel lobby.
Hotel is one of very few hotels at Honiara. So, it is not luxury hotel, but considering that there is no many options to stay in Honiara, that hotel is very good. It is maybe a bit more expensive concerning the room shape, but as said - not many places to choose... It is safe, cable car ride from reception to the hotel levels is very unique, and hotel have options for meals... Again, Honiara is not developed in touristic terms, so not many restaurants around to choose, better to eat in the hotel... Hotel to stay for few nights.
