Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThe people managing the property and the staff are amazing! Also the location is great, right across a small, but great beach. Also, it’a not far from the airport. As I was travelling by myself over Christmas days for a short stay, Marylene’s family kind of ,,adopted” me, so I didn’t feel alone. The food was great, the chef and also Marylene’s son, Bernard is a great one, the Christmas dinner and lunch were great and the fact that I got to spend it with their family was amazing. This place stole my heart cause of the warmth of the people. Asmita and Vinod who are the employees there was so warm and caring. I promised to return on my next trip there and can’t wait to see everyone again.

SwitzerlandThe room was outdated. We could hardly close the bathroom door, and there was a huge gap between the outside window and walls; you could hear all nature noises (which makes it a challenge to rest).
We enjoyed our stay at the villa. It was clean and well located for our plans. The staff was extremely friendly, they were kind and always there for us trying to make you feel at home. Last day, the staff prepared breakfast for us even though we had to leave early in the morning. It’s the small details that make a difference - loved it and very much appreciated it. We really recommend the villa if you want a bit of human warmth, attention, and feeling spoiled.

Very good place to stay. Very friendly staff, good breakfast, small but tasty selections for dinner. 15 minutes drive to Victoria and also to other places on the northern part of Mahe. Thank you Marylene, thank you Vinod + wife for a perfect week!

GermanyOur stay at Le Bonheur Villa has been wonderful. The swimming pool and breakfast are amazing. Chef Bernard cooks really tasty food for dinners. The villa is located in the North, close to Carana beach. It's location allows to catch the bus that travels around the island. It's also possible to arrange excursions in an easy way.

GermanyThe rooms are dark and a bit outdated. Unfortunately, the prices for the diner are high. No safe in the rooms.
The diner was awesome! It was definitely the best diner we had during our stay at Seychelles. The chef is a real master. The staff is really lovely, they anticipate and care about everything and will support you directly. The host is really caring of guests and has a explicit sense for high level of service. There was some issue/misunderstanding with the room allocation, and Marlene was directly looking for an solution. She invited us for some drinks. Real/ good coffee for breakfast, not granulated.

GermanyNot much to say. They offer boat tours and day trips from the hotel which is great, it would just be helpful to have a flyer of the activity or a website, so you don’t just have to book something blindly.
Very friendly staff, the hotel is beautiful inside and outside, well maintained. Beach and ocean are right outside the front door, the pool is refreshing and provides a lovely spot for hanging out. Breakfast was delicious and homemade by our thoughtful waiter. Owned and surrounded by locals - perfect way to get to dive into the culture! We were first unsure about the location when we arrived, thinking it would be a hassle to get to Victoria and around the island but it isn’t. The bus stop is just around the corner by a supermarket and we took it all around to the city and the beach in Beau Vallon. The bus ride is an experience in itself that you don’t want to miss and totally worth the few cents you have to pay for it to get around. You can leave your car at home. Great experience, highly recommend - great value for money!

RomaniaThe position of the villa makes it absolutely mandatory to rent a car because it is relatively far (by Mahe standards) from any objective. Once the car is rented, there is the problem of parking, which is a small one, and in addition, the staff's cars are also parked there. We found the car scratched the very second day after we took it. As I said, the villa can be seen to have been a luxury property, but many facilities were not maintained and became outdated. From the door on the balcony that was very difficult to close to the sink on the left in the bathroom where the drain was not working properly, passing through the old switches and reaching the wooden shutters on the balcony, the villa would need a minimum of investment to bring it back to the desired standard. It's really worth it!
Le Bonheur Villa is a superb location. For our family of 5 people (adults), we made a reservation for 3 rooms, but we received an upgrade for one of the rooms to a suite. This is absolutely gorgeous because the room, the balcony and the bathroom are huge. The view from the balcony is of the pool and across the street to the ocean. The facilities are very good, although in many respects they are outdated and worn. The breakfast was island style (similar to the breakfast on Praslin and La Digue) but for us it was OK both qualitatively and quantitatively. The relationship with the staff was good and we appreciated this. The dinner taken at the location on the first evening was a very high-quality one (according to all reviews related to this topic). I warmly recommend for all those staying at the villa not to miss at least one dinner in the location. The cost is similar to any restaurant on the island, but the quality fully justifies it. We also appreciated that for an additional fee we could keep the suite for a late checkout because our departure flight was in the evening. If the opportunity arises, we will gladly return to Le Bonheur Villa.

An unexpected treasure find at the end of our holiday. Close to the secluded Carana Beach we were treated like gold. Warm, friendly hosts and staff that went out of their way to make you comfortable. The cherry on top is Chef Bernard whose relaxed restaurant meant that we had 5 star dining without having to leave the lodge. Best Prawn curry I've ever had! Thank you - we'll be back xx

BulgariaThe villa is great. The room was cleaned every day and beach towels were left for us to use. The location is nice and peaceful, there are quite a few beaches nearby. The food was just delicious and made fresh for us each time. The breakfast was tasty too. But the most amazing thing about our stay here was the staff. They were so nice, so friendly and were ready to help with whatever! We loved everything and if we ever come back to Seychelles we'll definitely stay here again!

South AfricaIt was the same selection every day. The food was very poor.
Breakfast was fair nothing to get excited about. Dinner was awful that I got food poising, and when I went and bought food from outside restaurant the manager was very rude to me. There was black mold in the shower and bathroom and the tiles in the shower were painted and the paint was peeling off the tiles.

Marylene and her Staff don't try to be a hotel or just an accomodation,... they try to make your stay worthwhile! Bernard & his Staff create dinners which are absolutely amazing. We are fairly "picky" eaters and after three meals we just asked him to create something we like, the results have been amazing! Marylene and her staff are always around, if you need anything they will try everything to make it happen: - fruit platter in the afternoon we had once - We did not want to book a rental car and Marylene offered to organize one. - We declined the offer and asked her if she could just organize taxis for us when we need (taxis are rather expensive and sometimes hard to get a hold of) so she sometimes just drove us herself! When we arrived she asked us what we want to do during the stay and we had no clue so she did suggest and organize a few trips. We had the Suite and it's size is absolutely huge! In the Suite every item has charme and Marylene has a story or two to tell about things.
