Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe cleaning staff could not quite keep up with our expectations and apparently not with the host's expectations either. Nevertheless, Frank is trying to support them and improve the situation. Although the locations is great, the journey from the jetty to the apartment is exhausting when carrying luggage. After a rainfall the streets can be flooded. We would recommend to organize transport. We would also recommend to hire bikes because of the hills.
My wife and me were visiting La Digue after our 1 week stay on Mahe. We booked the apartment mainly because of the location close to Anse Severe and the rating. In total contrast to the local culture, these apartments are hosted by a super friendly US american couple. When we arrived Frank did welcome us and explain the facilities and also the island. He gave us great recommendations on excursions. His children are in charge of the Bikini Bottom Beach Bar and the food stand next to it, which are both nice places to visit as well. Our room was upstairs and had a separate entrance. The accommodation is well equipped and had everything we were looking for. The AC is very powerful and coming together with a ceiling fan. The safe was free to use and locked by a key. The kitchen had a gas stove with two cooking tops, a microwave, a toaster and a wide variety of cookware. Our bathroom was pretty standard with a shower. Overall the room was very clean at the beginning. We aligned to change the sheets at the 3rd day, since we think it's not necessary and better for the environment. The location close to Anse Severe was brilliant for having a swim after our trips in the evening.

United StatesIt seems fairly typical of the region, but there is not AC in the living rooms. This was somewhat uncomfortable in the heat that we experienced, but gave more reason to be out on the beach/water. The bedrooms are air conditioned and comfortable.
Great location just steps from the Anse Severe beach. Wonderful sunsets and rock formations. Decent snorkeling. Roomy villas that are nicely appointed/furnished. Beautiful landscaping and greenery around the villas. Good location for fresh water rinse. Great owner and staff...very friendly and happy to help arrange things like taxi transport and food recommendations. 2-3 min taxi to and from the port.

Czech RepublicThe chalets are located right next to the one of the most beautiful beaches on La Digue. The properties were clean and surrounded by an exotic garden. The owner Frank was very nice and helpful and he always responded to all our questions and requests. We warmly recommend this accommodation.

NorwayThere are no guest umbrellas in case of rain, but this was not a problem for us (after all, in this climate you are always wet anyway). And maybe the floor wasn’t super clean, but I take slippers with me and it doesn’t matter to me. This is an excellent place to live on La Digue, without bicycles you still can’t get anywhere on the island, and having a beach right next door is a 100% advantage, the beaches in the south, although beautiful, there is no housing near them, and there is absolutely no shade .
Firstly, you can pay there by card. Secondly, the place itself and its location. Walking from the ferry with three suitcases and a 6-year-old child was not a problem for us; there is a fruit shop along the way, I advise you to buy something right away. Frank was waiting for us for check-in and told us everything about the house in detail. The kitchen has the necessary utensils, a new stove with oven, a normal refrigerator with a freezer, and there is a grill on site. Take salt, cooking spices and oil with you, as well as tea and coffee (filter bags too, there is a machine). Yes, they still take a deposit and ask you to turn off the air conditioning, and there is also a reminder for tourists, but all this is normal, because it is clear that they really love this place and want to keep it in the best possible way for other guests. I liked the garden, among which there are brightly painted houses. We didn't see any cockroaches. Air conditioning is only in the bedroom, but it was ok for us (there are fans). The air conditioner is quiet (although I am picky) if you turn it on at low airflow. And it cools quite quickly at maximum airflow if you have just returned to the house. Wi-Fi is the best we have encountered during our trip. There is a good beach within a 1-minute walk, which may not be among the top 10 “best” beaches in Seychelles, but you can have a great time there if you’re tired of pedaling, especially at low tide! Sandy “baths” appear in the middle of the shore, in which you can lie lazily or put on swimming slippers and walk along the rocks in search of fish and interesting things - you can walk very far there at low tide. I met moray eel, fish, and sea cucumbers in the shallows. So the nearby beach is also a great place to watch sunsets.

United KingdomFor us there was nothing to fault about our stay in the chalet. We had everything we needed and the chalet exceeded our expectations.
The location of the chalets was perfect for us, right next to the beach and away from the busier port area. The chalets were beautiful and clean. We really appreciated the daily visits from the cleaners. The veranda was a lovely place to spend the evening surrounded by the tropical garden. Frank, the owner, was really helpful and responded to any requests straight away. We really appreciated the loan of beach towels after ours had got soaked the day before in one of the downpours.

Our stay at the O'Soleil Chalets Apartment was absolutely wonderful. Everything was perfect, beautiful accommodation in the middle of the rainforest, a short walk to the beach and our favorite bar, Bikini Bottom. The best thing, however, was Frank and his manner, an absolutely warm-hearted and great person. On top of that, his great team, everyone was very, very open-minded and nice. Dear Frank, stay as you are, stay as you are and take care of yourselves. And thank you again for you know what (utensil for Takamaka)
