How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The TV doesn't have any channels, it could only be used as a smart TV with Netflix, etc. We like watching local channels when we go to a new place and this was a little disappointing. Other than that we had a very good time.
Perfect location, clean, well equipped with appliances and all things you might need.

It is an old building so obviously no lift but spiral stairs not easy when carrying luggage and you are in your late seventies- perhaps should be mentioned in the publicity.
Location was excellent. Apartment light and airy - felt welcoming. Excellent Wi-Fi Constant hot water

Great central location, in a beautiful historic area. The electric scooters scattered throughout the city were a great way to travel, and a day trip on a boat was a great way to see some of the islands.

We liked everything about the property and would stay again.
we loved the location as it was close to restaurants, cafés, shops, and museums. It was well furnished and the beds were very very comfortable. We enjoyed walking about the old city of Stockholm.

we loved it here and would definitely stay again. Location is superb: in the old town, but a very quiet street. We slept with the windows open every night and it was silent. On the quay ( 200 m ) you can find the ferry to Djurgarden and an excellent bakery recommended by the owner, we went there every day for breakfast. Lots of good restaurants in " crawling" distance, also nice, not touristy ones. The apt was very much to our taste. In an old building with skewed floors, spacious . The interior is authentic with scandinavian touch and vintage pieces. Not overstyled though. We felt like living in Stockholm. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Shower is fine. Communication with the housekeeper was quick and satisfying.

The apartment is beautiful - classic Swedish feel to it. The location is brilliant - right in the old town. You step out of the apartment and look down the street to the waterfront 30m away - amazing. We felt privileged to be able to stay in such a great place.

Not much - a little bit more space would be nice - but as it is Gamla Stan you cannot expect more.
The location could not be better! And as we were there in off-season it was not noisy, even in the ground floor! We could get almost everywhere by walking. And if not: Gamla stan station (subway) or the Djurgaarden ferry are just around the corner.We first thought that the apartment looked a bit small, but all what is needed was there. As we were not that long in Stockholm (tyvärr) did we not use much of the kitchen with all the facilit yiesou could dream of, the bathroom was perfect, too.

if I had to pick one little thing, beds were on the small side. it would have been perfect if they were a tiny bit bigger.

I had a wonderful stay at the Gamla Stan appartement. The appartment is very well located, it is very nice inside, well equipped. The appartement staff was very attentive to the well being of my stay.

A fabulous location. Slussen ferry and metro very close. Gamla Stan metro also close by. Very comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen. Very clean.

Bed more confortable
The apartment is great and very well equipped, especially the kitchen, full of any tool. The position is perfect and strategic to see the town. The host is very kind and present....I had a little problem and he came in few minutes. I suggest this place!
