Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

It was very quiet and lots of space

SwedenThe rooms could seem to have already seen some better days. Some light bulbs and electric plugs were not all functional and the beds were a little squeaky though still comfortable. There was little space to hang up anything besides two cloth hangers.
The hotel is located centrally, in a calm area. The instructions we received were clear and well in advance, making check-in and check-out very simple. The rooms were cozy, warm, and clean and the staff was very friendly. We especially liked to have the breakfast included which was really good for the price!

United StatesBetter bed pillows!
It was super easy to get into our room with the given codes, etc. Breakfast is about a 5 minute walk and the food was good and staff was friendly and helpful. This is a really good deal for the price you pay.

LatviaIt was written that one bathroom for two rooms, but in reality - one shower on the floor! The text message with the door and unlock codes was sent to me less than two hours before my stated arrival time when I no longer had internet access. Of course, it was inconvenient.

PolandBuilding is old so it was quite cold during the night because of the old windows. heating did not help. Big minus is the fact that we had to walk for breakfast to a different place and the breakfast was really bad.
Hotel is located in a very good place. close to the city centre but still quiet during the night.

FranceDue to the age the building is not so sound proof. We had a calm night - but you hear what's ongoing outside your room. And even if no issue for us as we had good weather during our stay, it could be unpleasant to walk the 500 meters with poor weather to the nearby hotel where breakfast was served.
Charming, old style building - really liked the style. The room was good sized - we took one with a private bathroom. Overall a convincing package for one night. The location of the hotel was good, in reasonable walking distance to the center. There was a well equipped common kitchen area with a nice seating area in the building. We took the breakfast option - which was served in a partner hotel nearby. With good weather, the 3 minutes walk was no issue. The breakfast was fairly good - a really wide offer with lots of options. Overall very fair value for money.

Sri LankaThe bathroom could have been a little larger but can manage.
The facility provides complete privacy and freedom similar to an apartment that's essential for a traveler whose primary goal is attending an official event. The room is rather small but it has all the amenities including heating and an attached bathroom. The staff of Hotel Centralstation (who manages this facility) is quite helpful and keeps the place very tidy and clean. The place is located not very far from the city center but in a very quiet, peaceful neighbourhood. Especially if you are in Uppsala for a short stay to take part in an Uppsala university function, this is an ideal place to stay. The 100+years old facility has got the classic vibe.

NorwayThe code I got sent for opening the key box was wrong. There could be more lights in the room (sitting/reading light next to chair). A lot of disposable plastic used at breakfast. Not the best breakfast I had in Uppsala.
Nice place to stay close to train station and city senter. Room was more spacious than expected, very clean and nice. Nice ambience and spacious shared kitchen.

FinlandEspecially the bathroom had seen its best days, and was dirty. It was not possible to get a cot in the room. This was not informed in advance although we booked for two adults and a kid. For families, it is very difficult to get your pram in since the front door is at the top of steep stairs. Communicate in advance so you will be booked downstairs, since the place does not have an elevator: for us, the staff was very helpful and changed our room downstairs, but there may not be room in your case.
The place was close to the center and cheap.

BelgiumSmall and very hot room. Even when it's not even extremely hot outside. Very noisy at night. No way to darken the room completely at night. Such a small 'bed', if they only bought a basic bed from ikea and pit it there, would be 100 times better

HungaryThe room was cold (and the entire ground floor). The room seems to be super tiny; the shower in the bathroom has only stone paved and rather cold. For breakfast, one had to go to another hotel every day. Check-in was not easy, and the rules one could only figure out gradually there (i.e. not enough info prior to arrival).
Silent, clean room; nice, silent and central location. Breakfast was proper and good quality, though variety was not big. Great idea is the coffee, hot chocolate and hot water (free tea) machine in the kitchen. And I did like the well-equipped and nice-looking big kitchen.
