Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkThe extra bed if you are more than 2 people isn't suitable for adults; it's more in line with the size for a teenager or younger individual. In the case of a booking for 3, like mine, it can be quite inconvenient for the third person, especially if they are taller than 1.65m, as the bed may be too small. Extending breakfast hours would be a nice improvement (it is currently 6:30 to 9:30), allowing guests to enjoy a bit more sleep.
The hotel's location is fantastic, the room facilities are modern, the breakfast is excellent, check-in and check-out are hassle-free, and the bathroom with its great shower is very comfortable. The overall cleanliness make for a great stay!

GermanyImages of the Scandic Oceanhamnen looked very promising. We did arrive at the Hotel 7pm after a whole day of driving. At the Hotel we were told that the rooms are not ready to be checked in due to technical problems. We were not informed beforehand. The Hotel offered us alternative rooms at Scandic North in Helsingborg. After driving there we checked in. Unfortunately it was former smoking rooms not renovated since decades for a crazy expensive price. We were hoping for a beautiful weekend in Helsingborg with the family...in the end it was a very disappointing experience with Scandic Hotels for a crazy price. For sure never again. One positive thing: Breakfast at Scandic North in Helsingborg is great.

SwedenThere is a few annoying things here, I will list them in no particular order: - you are told you have to book breakfast with limited availability for each 30 min slot. I find that very peculiar. Why should I have to plan what time in the morning I wake up and eat, when I am on time off and traveling? Also it turns out that it doesnt really matter anyways since you can go down without a booking and take a free table. - Windows were not clean on the outside; stained full of dust, salt, grime and occassionally bird droppings, in both rooms we saw - We were originally given a room right next to the ferry terminal, so much so that you can see individual faces of the people standing on the deck. Went downstairs and asked if we could switch to a different room, ended up with another room looking at the same view just one floor up. WTF? - The room(s) we got are tiny, you can barely walk around the bed. Let alone do any kind of preparation. We were a couple getting ready for a wedding and getting ready at the same time was a major hassle.
Location is good, short walk from train station if you are coming by train or ferry (ferry terminal is attached to the train station). The property is on the waterfront so that is great for a walk, if you are lucky with the weather. Staff were very friendly and polite (but not necessarily helpful always). Other than that cleanliness *inside* was good overall (see below for the flipside)

CanadaThe lack of street signs in the area. The vague information regarding the parking situation. I'm perfectly okay walking 5 minutes in the rain, but I'd like to know that when "hotel parking available" actually is very limited.
Relaxed and friendly staff. Plenty of space and seating at breakfast. Generally brekfast buffets tend to feel hectic. Not here. Despite being fully booked it was a relaxed experience. The 12th floor relax area was a neat experience. A beautifully designed hotel.

FinlandRoom was cold and not possible to adjust temperature. Staff at the info offered extra blankets but took from us 2 calls and 2 visits at the info middle of the night before finally getting those at 12.30am!! Found out that housekeeper wasnt contacted from info staff at all even though they promised to do so after the 2 phone calls. He was only contacted AFTER we went down personally to info to ask about it again. Also with that room cost you would expect rooms to hv basic waterboiler, fridge and telephone. Overall hotel looks new and clean but facilities and service are not matching the expectation what you expect from only one year old (new) Scandic hotel.

United Arab EmiratesThere was no coffee or tea in the room and those are basics that you find even in the cheapest hotels. The hotel did not provide slippers, which again, basic thing considering the price of the Accomodation. The sauna was not working and there was no janitor available to fix it.
