We had a twin room, my bed was so hard I couldn’t sleep. This was the only minus but an important one. The mattress was on a hard board?

Extra fee if you didn't want to clean the room yourself when leaving and this was not mentioned when booking. A lot of people running in and out of the front door in the morning which was noisy.

Interesting collections of butterflies and insects to see. Very good cooking facilities if you're staying longer and nice garden with tables.

The shower was a bit scattered water. I might be that the island is short of water.

The staff here are very friendly and helpful. We were up late for breakfast. They opened extra hour for us and also gave us tips where to go on the island. It's a nature lover's paradise.

It's way too expensive considering that you have to pay extra for everything (bed linen, towels, cleaning etc) Check-out time is too early especially with the ridiculously long list of cleaning tasks.

We were surprised that we had to clean the room at the end of our stay.

The room was perfect for one person, the windows opened for plenty of fresh air ventilation, and every room had beautiful butterfly pictures on the wall! It was very clean and quiet and felt very safe. The buildings opened out onto a beautiful meadow which featured little tables and chairs where you could sit and relax or eat breakfast. It was a lovely setting to relax and start or end the day.

Excellent staff. Breakfast was typical Swedish with muesli, kefir, juice, open faced sandwiches with meat, cheese and vegetables. Very good!

The walls are so thin that you hear other people passing through the corridors. All the doors seem to shut loudly. We didn't have decent sleep because other people's noises woke us up repeatedly. The hostel should at least provide earplugs, it would solve the problem. And honestly, for it being a simple hostel, the prices are exaggerated. We didn't book breakfast but saw the buffet: simple supplies for sandwiches and musli. Would expect more for 110 sek. Again - overpriced.

En suite bathrooms are rare in hostels - a big plus! Large kitchen, quiet location, overall good atmosphere.

I stayed in a private room with bathroom, but had to pay extra for sheets and towels. A "do" and "don't" list on the wall of how the room should be left, and the location of the cleaning tools. I am in agreement to saving water and electricity and being clean, but this was like being in a hostel, not a private room. And the room needed to be cleaned by me before leaving or a large sum is payable. While i was there the weather was dry, where the cars are parked and the walk to the rooms is mostly grass, i dont know what it is like in wet weather, or how one is to keep their shoes clean.

It wasn't clear from the reservation information that the bed linen and towels are only available for a fee. Also there was no option for a double bed for a couple. The cleaning is done by the people staying there (in this case us) so there is no guarantee about the hygiene. Also the heater was manually off when we checked-in and we didn't notice that, so we froze over night. In general is more like an overpriced hostel.

Simple accommodation, like a youthhostel. Clean and comfortable. Favourably located in the central part of Öland. Oasis of peaceful quietness. Education about the unique island biotope. Good starting point for walks and cycling tours!

All reviews need to be based on expectations and what the place offers. This is a hostel (vandrarhem) on edge of a large nature area (Alvaret). Based on hostel expectations this is top notch and very friendly.

We were really surprised by the STF Station Linné. As we are both scientists, we loved the hostels concept. But also for non-scientists, this house is a really nice place to stay. The kitchen was very clean and well-equipped and the staff was really friendly and helped us to stay an additional night as we wanted to extend our stay. The only down-side was that beddings and towels were not included in the price, but the rooms are not that expensive so that's okay.
