The hotel is quite outdated. But if you like old Swedish style living from before WW2 then it is quite ok. Breakfast was self service and very basic. Urshult is not a very attractive place. A pizzeria, a bakery and a supermarket is all there is. Breakfast room ceiling looks like it can come down any minute.

Nice friendly owner. Decent price. Beds were pretty soft, so if you like that... Shower was ok, but shared, just like the toilet. Very quiet surroundings with view on blossoming apple trees and early birds singing.

Shared bathroom means that if you are on the upper floor then the showers are one flight down. Otherwise no complaints.

A place with character, feels like a time journey. I was the only guest that night but I got a filling breakfast. The host can tell you a lot about the history of the hotel.

Parking lot was tiny with a broken car in the middle, but that was not a real problem - cars could be parked by the streets.

Nice location and buildings. Friendly staff, good breakfast. Room was old-fashioned in a good way.

Not clean, grounds not kept well. Junk around. A shame because it is such a lovely spot and a historic building.

Too limited access to toilettes and bathrooms. Beds old and squeeky. Breakfast rather limited choices.

Location convenient. Staff friendly and helpful.

Towels provided but not soap/shampoo , as a hotel I thought this would be included. Coffee limited and only earl grey tea .

The breakfast was good , a selection of cereals , yoghurt , meat , hard boiled eggs , coffee tea etc , no cooked food . The location is very close to the Asnen national park which is very tranquil and beautiful .t

Although the building could be attractive, place was uncared-for. Staff were reasonably pleasant.

On arrival we couldn’t believe that we were actually staying in this place and it wasn’t a property under renovation. The outside was messy and generally uncared for. Inside there were overflowing sanitary bins in the toilets, and an overflowing, stinking bin in the ‘kitchen’ full of flies and a filthy fridge which hadn’t been washed out in a long time. The rooms needed a thorough clean as there were cobwebs and the dust set off my husband asthma. Other areas were covered in flies and the windows were filthy, unpainted and had broken window panes. The toilets smelt of urine.

Building could be attractive if some maintenance was completed. There was a basic but pleasant outdoor seating area which would benefit from some gardening. It is more of a hostel than a hotel. The sheets on the bed were clean. The towels were clean, very old and worn.

As I said it could be nice. But the owner thinks that rotten interior and dirt everywhere is charming. It is not. It is actually disgusting. Too bad as there is a lot potential in the house and rooms. But he is either too lazy or overwhelmed by the work a hotel makes. I tried to open a window and i suddenly had it in my hands. The ceiling in the breakfast room hangs and you are afraid it will fall on you. The floor there was so dirty my shoes stuck. Whatever, first and last time. I only can say too bad, too bad.

It really could be a very nice old guest house. But......

Very disappointed by the cleanliness… « we have a day job as well and it’s low season » are not excuses especially when you have only 5 guests that night. Old buildings can be charming but it was not the case here, just looked not taken care of :( Don’t go if you’re allergic to dust. The breakfast is basic.

Good location if you want to see the lake and naturreservat nearby.
