We have booked room with 3 single beds and 1 sofa. one single bed was temp bed and not so comfortable. Rooms are in the buildings next to the castle - neither plus, nor minus - just it is not clear in the description.

Very nice castle and surroundings. Good choice for breakfast, tasty dinner. Lake to swim or fish. There is a nice forest trail to walk around. Castle was open for viewing.

When we arrived, the kitchen was closed and pre-made meals had been left in a common fridge. Not only were there 3 portions instead of 5, but the food was quite bad and we immediately had to invest an extra hour in the car to find food. Not exactly an ideal start to a 2-night stay with kids in a very remote location.

The staff is very helpful and the setting idyllic.

The staff doesn't think ahead at all. We could not get into the castle on the second day of our stay, because it was closed for an event and the staff did not warn about this upon check-in. The breakfast buffet was covered in flies.

The breakfast was quite basic and the beds were quite small (no surprise though as it says here when booking that they are 140 cm)

Fantastic location and area. The castle is gorgeous and there are nice walks around in beautiful nature. We really appreciated the popular beach 50 m from our room on the sunny days. The dinner was nice, particularly to sit in the garden seating area. Not much choice for food but we liked all the dishes. The room was simple and small, but clean and fresh. We could see the lake a bit from the room. It was the hottest day of the year and the room kept surprisingly cool. The staff was very helpful. We really liked it and decided to stay another night even!

Simpler check in and check out. They don't take payments from booking.com and one must pay in person. Also, the vegan meat replacement at dinner was very bad.

Good setting near the castle and idyllic location, except the public beach was very loud with partying teenagers until 2 am.

We were quite disappointed that the hotel rooms are not in the actual castle but in the surrounding buildings that are not attractive at all. Sure it is written in hotel description but the hotel name is quite misleading. The castle itself was in renovation so we couldn’t even visit it. The staff could be a little bit more customer friendly. We have checked in late and the key was left for us in a key box. No one have even asked us later on if we could find it easily etc. During both breakfast and dinner buffet it happened too many times that some dishes were missing and were not filled fast enough.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. The surroundings are nice and it’s a great place for walk or swim in the lake. The food was tasty but a little bit overcomplicated sometimes.

The business doubles as an institute of higher education which I suspect is the primary source of income. The room I stayed in felt very much like student accommodation, smelled musty and unused although perfectly clean, outside windows, doors and furniture were dirty. Not a room I enjoyed returning to. Buffet dinner not always much better than at university either, though there was plenty of choice, and allergies were catered for (Sweden in general seems a step ahead of most of Europe here). Ultimately you get what you pay for and it was ok value for money.

Beautiful lakeside location in a well maintained historic estate Staff pleasant and efficient. Nice well signed trails around the estate. Extremely peaceful.

The food was not great. Dinner was basically the same both nights and it was not that good. Breakfast was very basic. We opted to skip it the second night.

The castle grounds are gorgeous. Eating dinner on the back patio at sunset on the lake was just gorgeous. Our room was lovely and comfortable. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Beds. Temperature. Marketing. Staff was all very young and helpful. It is a an open area som many locals come here to bath. Did i mention the beds, narrow and not great?

Advertised as a Castle and sure there is one, but the rooms are more like dorms. Clean and tidy but narrow bed, not the best mattress and warm! The surroundings are AWESOME Though and the included meals (dinner and breakfast) made this great value

This hotel is great! The surrounding with the old castle, the nature and the lake are magnificent. The rooms are very nicely decorated with real art and great furniture. The breakfast was very good as well!
