How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Lack of view from window (just a wall!)
Very handy location away from the main tourist areas, and very close to train and bus station which is a major bonus. Historic old building. 10% discount offer for dinner for residents.

One of the rooms had a dismal outlook, looking onto a wall just a very short distance from the window. There did not appear to be an elevator.
A conveniently situated hotel, near to the central bus and train station and within easy walking distance of the town. The restaurant offered a good selection of delicious food at a very good price. The breakfast was nicely laid out and offered a good selection. The bathrooms were clean and had powerful showers with ample hot water. The wifi was very good. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our rooms were available before the check in time and there was no problem leaving our luggage after check out.

A bell outside the door would be good. The restaurant was closed and we stood outside for 15 minutes. We called Betty, but she didn't hear the phone.

The beds are a little small and hard. Basic furniture. No window views.
Location, near the bus/train station and the old town. Convenient for travelers travelling via public transport. Breakfast is provided, though basic, sufficient to start the day.

The children's meal sizes were huge! Maybe cut the size to reduce waste.
The beds were more like a youth hostel, but the rooms were clean, and the bathroom was VERY nice. The attached restaurant had amazing food. I took my friend, who is Slovenian, and her daughters to dinner there, and the "traditional" items on the menu, she said took her back to her childhood. The garden space in the courtyard was so beautiful! You cannot beat the location. Very close to the bus station. And literally just steps to everything else in town. The building is a nice blend of the historical and comfort.

Room was basic but functional. Had a velux window with draped curtain that not only failed to keep the light out but the flats opposite could see straight in
Close to centre as well as bus and rail station. Breakfast OK.

the rooms are very minimal (which is absolutely fine for a short stay) when we arrived they gave us 2 single beds instead of the double we had paid for - they exchanged the room but told us it was our fault for not specifying when we booked the room with a double bed that we wanted a double bed 🙄 the first room was VERY tiny

Comfy room with well working ac. Quiet location even though so central. Old style property with nice inner yard. Nice service minded staff/owner. Definitely again next time in Ljubljana.

Small detail: curtains to keep out light better could be contribute to rate 10 instead of 9 :-)
Helpful staff, nice breakfast, cosy garden, nice location near the center. Excellent working airco (maybe not for everyone necessary, it is for me).

The tv had one channel. The price is very high for what it offers.
The place is perfect, is near dragon bridge and the bus station. The people that work their are very kind.
