How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Excellent hostel. We rented a private twin room with bathroom. Our room was extremely spacious for a hostel. Beds were fine. Perfect location and superb kitchen facilities. Excellent value .

Staff don’t come to check rooms, people steal beds, messy.
The first night got put into a room filled with mess, loud people, then got upgraded so was better. Facilities average. Central. Good kitchen. Lounge area. Lift to rooms

The bunkbeds could have some kind of sheet or curtain for a minimal sense of "privacy".
The hostel is very well located, with supermarkets and bars/restaurants close by. The room was spacious. I can't complain about the cleanliness. The staff was very nice and helpful to give you all the necessary information that you need as a tourist.

I didn't like the idea of having the same culture in the room . I would prefer international.

the beds were not the epitome of comfort, but they were more than adequate for a good night’s sleep
friendly staff working 24/7 at the reception Private room for three was a surprise, not only for its tidiness but also for the clean towels and blankets that awaited us. Despite being on the 4th floor, the elevator made it easy to reach our room without any hassle. The hostel thought of everything – from offering laundry services to providing a secure space in the luggage room, even for storing bikes (extra plus if you are on a bike tour)

The bunk beds were of low quality, the guy sleeping under me made a lot of movements during the night and I felt it. The fact that bathrooms are in a common area and not in the rooms is a negative for me.

Some people get in Bratislava and might not be used to those one-liter beer bocks that restaurants sell. An unfortunate incident happened with someone in my room regurgitating his beer on the floor. That being said, the staff was quick to respond and clean the mess. Also, there was a bit of a lack of hot water at times in the shower.
Very well located in Bratislava near the historical center. The room was clean when I entered. The staff is very helpful and welcoming, easy-going. The restaurants outside are relatively cheap. It was quiet. Very good quality-price ratio.

The shower could be more spacious.
It's easy to find the hostel. Even though the check in is at 2 p.m. you can leave your suitcase and it will be locked in a specific room. They organise event every evening and it's fun to meet people.

The only criticism could be the bed comfort. The matrasses should be replaced soon.
The location is perfect for exploring the city and getting around with trams and busses in the close vicinity. The staff is very friendly and helpful and keeps the rooms nice and clean.

Just be aware of a security deposit on check in to make sure you dont make noise after 10. We got that back though no problems.
Room was clean and spacious - enough for the 11 of us that stayed. Facilities were clean and had good warm water etc. Good location for exploring the city and getting the tram too.
