Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe restaurant is not up to the standard. At dinner they got three things wrong with the order (although they dealt with it patiently and took the dishes of the bill) and the food is not great. Expect things to be unavailable as well, although it’s understandable in such a remote location.
The highlight of this place is definitely the natural settings. Rocking gently on the lake with such a fantastic view was magical, and the sunrise was incredible. Highly recommend the massage therapist as well.

United StatesThe HEAT, which can’t be helped. Internet was poor, but ok at times. Needed to be off the Internet anyway, take books …things to read or journal.
The staff was extraordinarily kind, and helpful. The views of the lake are other worldly, Fantastic, Spell binding. Beautiful, The color of the lake is a bright Aqua Marine. The food was just Ok, some things were better than others. They are good at scrambled eggs with nice things added to them. Very tasty. The wait staff were some of sweetest in Thailand. Thicha was adorable. Very attentive. They try very hard to please you. As for the room and the heat, It was very difficult to get comfortable during the day time. The AC is NOT effective. But was very effective once the sun went down, just fine to sleep. We did not do any day trips, so we were stuck to the dock or our room. Felt a little trapped, but attitude is everything, and that went away. Also the lake was very very warm. Lots of algae or green moss floating all around…. but they also try to clean that as much as they can ……nearly impossible. I didn’t mind it too much. The rooms were impeccably clean. This is a floating resort, so some cabins rock a lot on the wind. Just be mindful. You can easily loose your balance, so hold on.

United KingdomWe loved 500rai. The The staff were an absolute delight - Nipha, Tisha and Sammy (nut) were brilliant and made our stay. The location is insane. We read some negative reviews saying it’s overpriced but considering its remoteness, it’s understandable that to operate a floating hotel situated where it is, operating costs will of course be higher and therefore yes, this is a little more expensive than other hotels in the region but we felt it totally worth it. The food and service has been great and we have loved our time here - incredibly special place.

United KingdomCommunication about arrival was confusing. You have to get to the pier and then it is an hour and a half transfer either shared or private. It is quite expensive and there are no local boat options so we had to wait two hours! Frustrating as we wanted to have the maximum time at the resort. When we arrived everything was amazing. They told me dinner was included and on check out that this had been a mistake! They removed dinner from the bill but a bit awkward.
Fantastic location and suite on the beautiful lake. Very unspoilt and natural. Great food and restaurant with very polite staff. An amazing experience. Loved the kayaks too.

United KingdomFood and drink very expensive, nowhere else to buy and not allowed to bring your own stuff means they do have a bit of a monopoly on you. Look at the menu, calculate how much you expect to spend as they do offer an option to purchase a 5000bhat ticket which gives you 6000bhat to spend. Wildlife safari was not worth the price as we didn't see much but you are dealing with wild animals so you can't complain if they don't want to come out. Private transfers are over the going rate. Offered us a 3500bhat private taxi to our next destination but I managed to find a local taxi at the pier for 2000 within 2mins of arriving back at the pier. Room needs a fridge!
The scenery and surroundings are amazing and you will fill your camera with screen saver quality pictures. Water in the lake is warm and very inviting for a swim, paddle or kayak. Food is good quality and portions are massive.

United StatesThe vaulted ceiling in the restaurant fills every evening with dozens of little birds that fly about the restaurant pooping. We (and our food) thankfully never got hit directly with droppings but the remnants end up on the furniture.
We had a wonderful two night stay in a floating villa here. Loved having the swimming pool and the restaurant is very spacious with a great view of the lake. Staff was also extremely kind and helpful. The hotel organizes a ton of activities (both off site and on site). We loved our cave tour (but bring shoes and socks for leeches).

United KingdomThere is no easy way for the less able person to get in/out of the water/kayak, which meant our whole group could not go swimming in the lake together which was a disappointment. Air conditioning in the standard properties was limited/timed. We stayed in one of the deluxe suit, which are were not linked to the main group of building, so you couldn't just walk to the restaurant and swimming pool, hich was an inconvenience, however there was a swift boat which came and picked you up. No hairdryer supplied if you want one you have to pay for one!
The location was fantastic. Each property had its own kayak and you could go off and have some great adventures. Air conditioning was fantastic in the deluxe suits 24r. The food was fantastic.

United KingdomSlightly tired accommodation. Things like bathrooms needed a bit of a refurbishment. And over time the wooden doors & windows have warped in the heat so don’t shut properly. We also found understanding the staff & them understanding us was a bit challenging.

United KingdomIt is vastly overpriced for what it is! Food was mediocre, restaurant service was slow and erratic (we often got different food to what we ordered). Air con in the room is ineffective so it was very hot for sleeping. We had a lovely time but the pricing is pitched wrongly.
Waking up to the sound of monkeys calling to each other whilst the sun rose over the lake was pretty special. 500 Rai is a nice floating resort and the location is fabulous. The long tail boat ride over is beautiful. Kayaking and swimming in the lake were gorgeous.

United KingdomThe only thing I was disappointed with was the lunch and dinner part of the stay at 500 Rai resort only because 3 out of 4 times the food came out to our table at separate times which meant I had finished my meal and my girlfriend had not even got her meal yet. Also there was a few times where drinks and meals or ingredients I chose were not available at the time of me choosing which disappointed me.
The location was out of this world. So beautiful. I'm not sure I could find anywhere that could match it.

United KingdomThe food was very expensive even taking into account it all has to be brought in by boat. My Pad Thai was one solid mass of stuck together noodles. there was a thirty minute wait between myself and my wife eating. water is only put on the table for guests who have their food included in the stay. Service was terribly slow. This is set up as an exclusive establishment charging accordingly but with very low standards. It desperately needs a good manager on sight. Fortunately the location and the general surrounding/ views are unforgettable and saved thes the day. Anyone on a budget take into account that transport, boat taxi and food and drink will add up to almost double the cost of one nights stay.
This is an out of this world location and an experience of a lifetime. Enjoyed the morning birdwatching and monkey watching boat trip. Cabins are comfortable and clean with good showers etc.

United StatesThe beds were extremely hard and sharp on the edges due to metal frame. We were suppose to revive either spa service discount or alcohol as a welcome package and neither were offered/granted. I also wished they offered differing menu options or specials for more variety since the menu is the same for lunch and dinner and breakfast everyday.
We enjoyed the remoteness of 500 Rai and the beautiful views. The prices were high for things like alcohol, adventures and massage but overall worth it. I appreciated that they changed out everyone’s bamboo docks since when we first arrived they were very slippery and sinking/unable to hold weight. They allowed us to apply our adventure price to our big money promo which was not expected and very nice.
