How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Gym was a bit underwhelming eg. dumbbells are in pounds so not very heavy. Bring your rubber bands? YMMV. Again there are gyms nearby. Some mosquitoes in the evening time in the inner yard area. Consider asking a room on the pool side? My room was towards soi chayapoon on the 7th floor and kinda noisy. Not terrible, not great. Def my biggest gripe.
Good location, a short walking distance from soi Buakhao and the tree town. Has a proper Harvia Finnish sauna that heats up to 80 degrees, a surprise! Very clean hotel and lovely staff. Good restaurant and breakfast, filling for a westerner. Also there's a very good restaurant nearby not on hotel premises, Copperspoon. They have an endless supply of toothbrushes, which was nice since I forgot to bring mine. Has a massage room, a small store for beer&snacks.

Amazing experience! Beautiful hotel in a perfect location super clean and modern! I’ve stayed in five star hotels all over the world that can’t beat the service here and I can say that the service at this hotel exceeded all of the service I have ever experienced ! The staff are absolutely incredible and a credit to the company! I unfortunately had an eye infection a week before I came to stay at the Amber and it was still a little red and the reception noticed on check in and asked everyday if I was ok and did I need anything! I felt truly cared for it was like having a family member with me every day! Honestly hand in heart this is the best most caring and beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed at! It’s truly incredible! Would highly recommend!! Thankyou so much to the team at the Amber for your compassion and friendliness and professionalism! You guys deserve a 5 star rating!!!!! Djamel Meddah

After staying in this hotel for the third time now, I've seen many things change and they continue to renovate and reinvent quite effectively. The rooms got a make-over since the last time, so there's no slow decline in quality that you can see in some other hotels in Pattaya over the years. The pool was back in mint condition, the garden facilities are continuously great as always, even the ash trays on the balconies got a rework and are actually usable now. The breakfast was expanded with an "egg station" to get yourself a freshly fried egg or omelette as ordered. The staff continues to be great all around, polite and courteous. Also nice to see how they remember your face after a few stays now. Best regards to the porter Ben, you hardly ever see a man with this much heart and effort into his job. See you again in Summer!

If you don't take a room with a poolside, you get a terrible room. Also the rooms are old and for the higher floors you have a terrible shower rain of water flow! The room is clean, but with a lot of marks on the floor and on the sink, it looks like it isn't clean at all!

Frankly, I do not like being around dirty chain-smokers, and the other behaviors that they tend to have. The biggest improvement that this beautiful hotel could make is to become 100 % non-smoking. That would improve the quality of the clients and, as a result, the value of the property
