Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomEverything was great, and we would stay again. However, we were traveling with our 2 year old and you do have to be careful on the upper balcony as the railings aren’t sufficient for preventing a fall.
We were so well cared for at Baan Lek. The rooms were spotless and beautifully designed, the whole house is an architectural interest and makes it a really cool place to stay. At breakfast we were treated to a lots of things especially bought for us, as we’re vegetarian: sweet buns, lots of fruit, Thai breakfast snacks, omelette, juice, coffee, different breads and some fruit from the garden. We were offered the use of a two wheeler and bikes. Our two year old was really welcomed. It was a short distance walk to the waterfront and cathedral.

Thailandfot the "mountain view" room now only see the big old tree in front of the house. no mountain. and the tree is not that beautiful. And the place is a bit hard to reach if you don't have car/ taxi. (but once you were there you can ride a bicycle)
The owner and staff is so kind. The space and room are well-designed and very peaceful, very comfy. You can ride a bike (free for guest) to tourist spots like the church and famous river-side community.

Love love love everything about the Villa. From the moment we enter the gate, There's a big tree welcoming us. Mae Lek, The landlady, was waiting to welcome three of us with bunch of fruits, snack and cold orange juice. We love how the location is near the department store (10 mins walking distance to Central Chantaburi) but Villa is very quiet and calm. Mae Lek recommended us lots of delicious restaurants and traveling spots. She treats us like her kid's friend visiting her house. The house is very well design surrounds with various plants. A good place for a short getaway or staycation. There's options of breakfast for you to choose from. You should try a local menus. They are all goods. Rooms are clean and all ensuite bathroom. Very recommended.

FranceWe have nothing negative to say!
We feel so lucky to have found Baan Lek Villa in Chanthaburi. My husband and I were in need of somewhere calm and peaceful after suffering through many health complications during our travel. Staying here definitely is what helped my husband heal more quickly. The fresh air, the beautiful spacious rooms, the nutritious breakfast, fruits and juices, the healing smells of the homemade natural soaps, and most of all - the kindness of our host, who so graciously took care of us and shared with us her positive energy that we so needed. We feel like we found a little home away from home here, and we can’t wait to return to experience the magic of Baan Lek Villa again soon.

Germanyfor families: keep in mind that the handrail is not toddler proof, but it’s definitely manageable.
this is a hidden gem! We loved our stay at Baan Lek Villa, and can highly recommend it. It is a small boutique hotel, which feels like art you actually live in. the whole house is very well thought through. We enjoyed its individuality, on point design and modern architecture. the hosts welcomed us with open arms. they upgraded our room as we travel with our toddler, to have more space, which was very thoughtful. all rooms are upstairs with a great view and a spacious wooden deck to relax at. downstairs is the kitchen with hammock and a green flush garden. the breakfast was good, and they asked about our preferences to adapt on the second morning. we were able to use the kitchen, too. within 30 minutes, they organized a scooter to market prices for us. and they drove us to the bus terminal free of charge and helped us with the tickets. in general, Chanthaburi is not a typical stop for tourists. we still tried, and we had two great days here! tourism is based on the durian season which grows in the area. the location of the hotel is central, that you can reach sightseeing spots like downtown, the mall or the big Cathedral within driving minutes only. we went for a national park and drove to the beach, all by scooter within 30 minutes. you can experience local living away from general tourism.

ThailandThe room we booked got a bad smell might be from the toilet. We have to changed to another room and paid for the extra difference. Luckily the last room was available so we can changed the room. - During night time you might heard dogs are barking from time to time.
The property surrounding with various tress. Which made us relaxing, clam and quiet. - The room was comfy and clean. The shower gel is great for freshen up your body with mint scent. - The owner of the villa, Kru Lek is very nice and kind. We got a warm welcome from her. And during the stay, she always offered us a assistance if we needed one.
