Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Sri LankaThe hotel is in a great location; it is away from the town centre and so free of traffic noise. The views from our room were great, looking out over the lawns and the fiends towards the Maekong and Laos beyond. Our room was by far the best we have had in Thailand on this trip, being both spacious, beautifully designed and comfortable. The owner is kind, helpful and knowledgable. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere in the restaurant. It is a motorcyle friendly hotel too. There is safe parking off the road and good advice on trips to take. The Maekong and town are a short walk away 20 - 30 minutes, if you don’t want to drive. Bicycles are available for hire I believe. Strongly recommended. A real highlight of our trip this year.

United StatesLoved everything!
Fabulous property with the most amazing hosts! Mai and her family go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. And it was! Large, clean room with an amazing view, delicious food, and everything we needed to explore…or just relax. This was my favorite hotel after 13 weeks in Southeast Asia! Can’t wait to come back!

Wow!! We needed to book a hotel close to the border as we would be arriving late on the slow boat. We didn’t expect such a little bit of paradise! From the welcome from Nak on our arrival to the time we left, our stay was faultless. The hotel is new and family-run by 3 generations. Our room was huge and spotless with a beautiful balcony where we could see Laos in the distance. We enjoyed a home cooked meal and local beers on our first night, and breakfast of eggs toast fruit and jam the next morning (excellent coffee too!) the grounds were lovely to walk around and are well tended by the grandmother of the family. The hotel is decorated beautifully too with lots of interesting artefacts and artwork to look at. Had we known what a beautiful place this was we would have stayed another night. Nak gave us plenty of tips on where to visit on our next stop Chiang Rai and ordered a tuk tuk for us to take us to the bus station. He could not have been more helpful. We highly recommend this hotel to stay if you need accommodation in Chiang Khong, it was perfect! Thank you 🙏

United StatesNothing to dislike about the lodging. Wish we had known about the heavy smoke in northern Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam from February till the spring rains. Farmers burning crop land. We cut our stay short by a week to escape.
Everything, from the location itself to the area birds and geckos to the charming grounds and the wonderful echo of drums coming across the fields from Laos. A great, well-built lodge with roomy suites and comfortable furnishings. Nak, the owner’s son, welcomed and took care of us. A wonderful young man.

SingaporeEverything about this resort is great. It's run by a small family that is VERY friendly and nice. They also sell beautiful merchandise that contributes to a local red cross organisation. The room and toilet are BIG and CLEAN! You can see Laos across the river. They also have a cafe at the lobby that serves food and great coffee. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. Will definitely make a return again.

United KingdomThe setting of this property is beautiful- as is the welcome from Mai and her lovely family. They could not do enough for us, and organised a Golden Triangle day tour that was fantastic. The home cooked food was absolutely delicious, the rooms huge and sumptuous… if only we stayed much longer than two nights. We are already planning to return. Don’t miss it!

United StatesNothing to not like
It'a not often when you arrive at a hotel and feel good vibes right away. Tucked away in a seemingly rural neighborhood (spotted a family of guinea fowls pecking away outside our deck), this family run hotel felt comfortable and friendly. Dinner and breakfast is in an open air dining room/bar where a few house cats roam around hoping for a morsel. We wished we could have stayed in our large suite which was super clean for more than a night but we were there to catch our cruise the next morning which many stay in this town for.

United StatesThat we only stayed for one night!
This is an absolutely amazing property! Very comfortable and well appointed room with a view of the Mekong River and a fantastic bed. The grounds of the property are both serene and beautiful. The proprietors, Nack and his mother, Min(?), we’re so sweet, kind and accommodating. Overall this was an excellent stay in a boutique hotel that I would happily recommend without any reservations.

United KingdomThe only tiny thing is we would have liked some tea/coffee making facilities to go with the fridge and kettle. However, we were given some milk as soon as we asked.
This is a beautiful hotel run to the highest standards by the family whose level of service is exceptional. We loved the whole place, the room was first class and so comfortable with great peaceful views towards Lao. Highly recommend this.
