How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There is a construction going on right in front of the village. The walls are a little bit thin so you can hear other people talking. There is a bar above and once a week there is a party going that starts early and ends late. If you are not comfortable with this you should consider.
It’s very close to great restaurants & cafes, also the beach. There are taxis waiting in the main road. 7/11 is 2 mins by walking. Nearest laundry is also around 1 min by walk. The internet is good if you are a digital nomad like me. Prior to the checkin I received a small tour guide that shows activities in the island. All in all, it was very comfortable, the AC worked great and the staff were very helpful.

It was a bit further from the beach than we realised and up quite a steep hill. We found having a moped made the commute much easier.
Clean and well presented in a lovely part of the island.

Loud noise from apple bar until 12 pm and 1 am on a Monday
Beautiful rooms, very clean. Close to haad yao beach which is lovely, and there are a few nice bars/restaurants round there. Can see the ocean from the balcony which is a lovely place to hang out. The taxi driver they recommend (Joe) was very friendly and I organized a few trips around the islands with him.

There are construction right near the place that make some noise in the morning and a party once a week with loud music until 01:00. Nothing terrible but something you should know before reserving that place.
The apartment was great, very well designed. The self check in and check out is very efficient. The owners are very nice and helpful. The location is great, right in the middle of the beautiful and quiet area of the island.

Very comfortable and cozy house, in a nice part of Ko Phangan. Alex and Maria were great hosts, almost everything went without in-person interaction, yet they make you feel like they are always there to suppport. House has everything you need for both shorter and longer stays. Nearby there are several restaurants and a solidly equipped 7/11 store. Can highly recommend!

I was lucky enough to stay one night in a wonderful BAO Village holiday home. Clean cozy house with stunning sunset views. there is everything you need. Great owners who love what they do. I would like to stay longer, but everything is already booked

Well, just the only one thing was a bit annoying - the Apple Bar. Of course the hotel isn't in charge of it. But, to be honest, loud music was not every day and it always finished before 1 am, so there was a lot of time to chill and sleep.
So, it's very clean apartments with new furniture, comfortable kitchen, nice and friendly landlord - he answered too quickly and all of our issues were solved asap. Also there are a lot of restaurants near this apartment - breakfasts, dinner, everything what you want. It's very chilly place. There is no problem to find the hotel - it is in quiet place, but at the same time it's easy to access.

The bungalow is quite noisy. You'll hear arriving scooters and the sorrounding bars until 12 and your direct neighbours.
The atmosphere is amazing! Really cozy place, stylish and nice furniture. Nice view from the balcony. The kitchen is well equipped for a small cooking session. Also the hosts are super nice and caring!

The walk back up from the beach area is a bit difficult at night, no problem if you have a scooter though.
We loved our stay here! Great location and hosts were really nice! The beach is a few mins walk away and lots of bars, restaurants, cafes nearby. The apartment itself was really big, clean and modern. Lovely balcony and a great view. We'd certainly come back again!

Some noise outside, cutting shrubs and gathering leaves for the next door proprty
Really lovely house, with a kitchen you can cook in. Clean and new. Unfortunately we're sick most of our stay so we spent a lot of time indoors - was very happy with the flatscreen tv, very quiet fan and nice AC. Shower and bathroom are nice and clean. We could also catch a glimpse of the sea from our room. Also very importantly - the host was very kind and that is appreciated.

House equipped with everything, modern and functional. Magnificent view from above (best sunset i've never seen!) and excellent location to reach the best beaches! Recommended for those who love tranquility and comfort. The owners are always available and very kind!!!

The place was well insulated, which is not too common for South East Asia. AC was working well. The ocean view was incredible and very good to meet the sunsets. The place was clean and the housekeeping service was provided.
