How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It is a very chill hostel and nothing really happens in it.
Black Pantera Hostel provides a comfortable and affordable stay with its friendly staff, clean toilets, and air-conditioned rooms. The great value for money makes it a worthwhile choice for budget-conscious travelers seeking a comfortable and convenient accommodation.

Only one bathroom in each room and the door doesn't lock...
Really cool hostel in a quiet street, a few minutes away from Bangla road. Big room and comfy beds, A/C. Helpful staff.

The bed was comfortable, but had a hole of some kind in the base on the right-hand sleeping side, so you slumped down into it. Oddly enough I warmed up to it and found it comfortable after a day. Bathroom was average. It is darker/dingier in real life than it looks online. But as a place to sleep and rest, it is more than adequate.
Location is great right near Bangla Road, but far enough back from the main road you don't hear anything while you're in your room. Room was large and had everything I needed in it.

The mattresses were not comfortable; all three windows were damaged and couldn't fully be closed; maybe a little too few bathrooms if it were at full capacity; no free towel. Quite a few minor things, but nothing too major to not recommend this place.
Super sweet staff, they always helped with everything :) Great location, very central, but not noisy. Everything was orderly and felt welcoming!

🚫 my window was facing industrial facilities, so there was no view. It was closed with curtains all the time, so it was a bit dark.
🫧Immaculately clean; 🙏🏻 friendly staff; 📍very close to the Bangla road and to the beach 🙉very quiet; 🦟 no mosquitos or any type of insects

There was a power cut during our stay so we were temporarily without water and electricity which wasn’t ideal, however, a staff member was very apologetic and really helped to resolve it quickly which was good.
Good location, free bottle of water every day, air con. Our flight was delayed by a couple of hours but the staff members were very kind and waited for us to arrive at 1am which was really nice

Locker space wasn’t large enough to place rucksacks. The rooms themselves were quick small too so it made it hard to find a place for your bags - most people slept with them on their bed.
Clean and tidy rooms. Each bed had a curtain which added privacy. Great showers with good water pressure and maintained a constant temperature. The location was perfect too. Close enough to everything, whilst still being far enough from Bangla road allowing a decent sleep.

Loads of ants running around room when we arrived but they helped us get rid of those. Bed was on wheels which meant if you move it pushes off the wall - couldn’t lock the wheels in place! Wi-Fi was pretty hit or miss throughout our stay, and we had water issues but someone fixed that fairly quickly
Great location with everything you need nearby. Well lit room with lots of storage for our bags and clothes. Friendly and helpful staff throughout. Room was nice and big with terrace

Balcony door didn’t lock (not too big of an issue but would’ve preferred it to lock!)
Super good location, lovely staff who were very welcoming. Aircon allowed on in room all the time which is great! Safe in room which is also a bonus. No noise in the evenings either.

Only 1 bathroom per dorm with the toilet and shower together. There are more showers on the rooftop level but no toilets.
Great location, close to Bangla Rd but quiet at night. Clean. Beds were big and comfy.

The location is perfect as just within a walkable distance to Patong beach but away from all the hubbub so nice and quiet. We stayed there two nights and was perfect for what we needed, especially at the price!
