Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaNothing, just a disclaimer that the property doesn’t have any lift and we were on 3rd floor so taking our luggage was a little hectic. Although we didn’t had any problem with it but highlighting it so that you know this while booking it.
It was very neat and clean and conveniently located near the old town market. Also, common area is very cool and cosy.

United KingdomThere was some construction noise nearby but we still slept well.
There are thoughtful design touches everywhere. The entrance/cafe is elegantly decorated giving a great first impression. The excellent breakfast is at any time of day, not at a set time (perfect for jetlag) and the staff were friendly and attentive. We loved the tea room upstairs too.

United KingdomThere is no lift so the stairs were challenging with 2 heavy cases! We had to have breakfast on the go due to our early departure which wasn't the best, however cannot complain as they accommodated this for us due to our early departure.
We stayed in this hotel for one night as a short stopover, for the price we paid it was great value for money. The room was spacious and very clean. It is also in a great location close to the bus station, shops and restaurants. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodated our early check in and out.

MalaysiaRoom door keypad wasn’t working, that could’ve been communicated clearer. I messaged to arrange for late check in at 11pm. They replied with detailed instructions, that was perfect. My room’s electronic keypad wasn’t working, they left the door open so I could get in. The next morning, i went out and shut my door behind me and could not open it anymore. I had to get a manual key from the staff, who were very nice.
Polite, helpful staff. Nice coffee and barista

United KingdomVery steep stairs with no lift/ elevator or porterage assistance. WARNING - not suitable for guests with mobility issues. Bedrooms dark with basic facilities. But pricing reflected these small negatives.
Lovely cafe area incorporating check-in desk. Breakfast choice was excellent served in a “Paris-cafe” atmosphere. Location was perfect for travellers arriving by coach/mini van as it was just across the street, from the bus terminal. About a 15 minute walk to Old Town tourist streets. We enjoyed our two night stay at the Blue Monkey Boutique.

This place is so beautiful and comfortable! Amazing big breakfast, nice staff, snacks and drinks for all guests that you could grab anytime. Netflix, iron. It's a bit far from city center (10-15 min walking) but for me that was not a problem. Bus station is near. Perfect place to stay in Phuket Town

MalaysiaPlease noted that this is a 4 storey hotel with no lift, so not suitable for guest with big luggage. The sound insulation is not good enough, we can hear the noise outside the room.
The hotel is located at Phuket old town and close to bus terminal 1. The place is very nice design, clean and comfortable, staff also very friendly. I stay at twin room for 3 nights with breakfast. 1st floor is a cafe, the hotel reception is close to the staircase. The breakfast is very good and big portion. I'm very happy and satisfied with the service.

IndonesiaNo lift in the hotel. We brought 2 pieces of luggage for each person and we spent almost 15 minutes to move it to the 3rd floor. Better for someone without much luggage or a backpacker traveler.
The hotel has a vintage vibe, cute in every corner. The breakfast was excellent, the food and drink was good, and the ambiance of the restaurant was wonderful. They can provide a halal food. The hotel is near the heart of Phuket old town. We can access it by walking. If you want to rent a motorcycle, there is a motorbike rental near the hotel. The room was so spacious, that we could open all our 4 luggage in the room at the same time. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The staff was friendly.

Nice and cozy boutique hotel just 10 minutes walk from the old Phuket town. I didn’t use a terrace but I really like to have it :) Bed and pillows are comfortable so it was so good to relax after a long day of waking. There is a common area at the second floor and a nice cafe in the first floor. Staff is super friendly and helped me with the early check in.
