Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing.
My room was clean and then bed was soooo comfortable. I still think about that cozy bed. The facilities are all adequate for a stay. There are a few restaurants and a coffee shop next door that you can go to. Nice and quiet at night. Walking around was easy and with a motorbike you could get anywhere.

United StatesHonestly I cannot think of anything.
This is such a gem, from the moment of arrival...well not moment because it is a little more off the "beaten path" of the Chiang Mai main square the street was a little sparse and I wondered but then I went in. WOW. The entry room and staff were so inviting and the room was clean, basic, and so comfortable. I felt instantly relaxed and at home. Upon further exploration I discovered that the location was quite walkable and in fact the first alley has the cutest little cafes and coffee/drinks as well as some live music at times. I felt very safe in the area and in the hotel. I am almost afraid to review it as its popularity will rise and the price may go up but they deserve recognition for their amazing hospitality. I did upgrade to the room with the balcony and enjoyed the little extra space. If this place has availability grab it now as it is a nice stay close to the the high paced are of Chiang Mai without dealing with the noise and chaos of the the main square.

IndiaNothing much everything was good, except the shower head, if possible the shower head could use some changing the modes in it were a bit limiting.
The place is amazing you get coffee/snacks and a microwave down in the lobby area so you can reheat your food from 7-11. There is a really cute cafe just down the street, where the people are lovely and they serve good breakfast too. The place is run by a family, and it feels really good to stay here. there is a similar shop to 7-11 just near the petrol pump. It also has a balcony which is missing in many places tbh. the room is cozy, the surroundings are pretty silent too. Perfect place to wind down. If you're looking for some social stuff there are few hostels down the road, happy to share those connect with me at @hoppingaroundtisworld on instagram

Second time staying here and would definitely stay again next time we're in Chaing Mai! Staff are always so kind and helpful, free coffee/tea and snacks at reception and the location is really close to everything you need! Bed is so super comfy and they easily provided a couple extra pillows (as we like to sleep with 2 rather than 1)

CanadaGreat location near the north east corner of the old city. The property is well cared for, guarded; the room is spacious, cleaned daily, water & toiletries provided, free coffee, tea, snacks at the lobby. Common area perfect for having a meal or coffee. Small gym space & laundry facilities on site. Hosts are extremely nice & accommodating. If ever in Chiang Mai in the future, will definitely stay there again!

SloveniaIt was great. Very good price/performance. The room is cleaned everyday, you get new water, and water/coffee is always available in the lobby along with some snacks. Have stayed in two other rooms in CM for this price and this beats both of them by a 100. Recommend

United StatesAll was well 😊
A very clean, quiet, and friendly place to stay in Chiang Mai. We enjoyed the size of the room, the helpful staff, endless hot water, and plenty of drinking water available. Little snacks downstairs. Close.to Chinatown. There are some interesting stores in the area. I would stay here again. The bed was kind of hard but comfortable.

United KingdomI wouldn't have minded some smaller lights in the room – maybe some lamps on the night stand. Also, the WiFi wasn't quite as fast as I required and I found myself using my phone hotspot a lot of the time.
I couldn't have been happier with Canary House Rachawong. I was in a slightly noisy room by the road but they moved me no questions asked to a quieter room near the back where I stayed happily for 3 weeks. There are free drinks and biscuits in reception and the people who work there are very friendly and accommodating. They also clean the room every day and provide free water. The shower is excellent. It's in a great location which is walking distance to the Old City and also to night food markets such as Ploen Rudee. Altogether an excellent hotel, probably the best place I stayed in Thailand, and couldn't recommend it more highly.
