Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt’s a very secluded location and a few organised activities like yoga would be nice. Beware the local monkeys can be a little aggressive at times.

United KingdomThis is a quiet location but still accessible to walking street and other beaches. We enjoyed snorkelling off the private beach and watching the sunset. The food and drinks served at the hotel were very good and all the staff were happy, friendly and approachable. The air conditioning worked well in the room and the tea and coffee was replenished daily.

United Kingdom- chilled out music around the pool would be nice. Some guests playing their own music (US country Rock) through speakers a few days which didn’t go well with the feel of Casa De Lipe.
- The property is very private yet accessible and a great base for everywhere Koh Lipe. - Intimate setting and not too many rooms which makes it feel quite exclusive. - Loved the private beach - all staff were exceptional - front of house, food and beverage team. Extremely hospitable and friendly. Nothing too much trouble. - breakfasts and food generally at the resort very nice.

BelgiumThe staff was professional, helpful and really friendly. Casa de Lipe offers a unique experience on Koh Lipe and we have to admit we would have enjoyed the island differently without Casa de Lipe. You can freely enjoy snorkeling and kayaking just in front of the private beach. Also, the pick up for the 5-7 islands tours are on the private beach too. There's a free lift to the walking street every day too. Everything was perfect and we will definitely come back !

United StatesThe location cannot be beat and the staff are incredibly welcoming. The manager went above and beyond to help us celebrate our anniversary at the hotel. Casa de Lipe is serene, the breakfast varied and tasty, the views are phenomenal, and snorkeling right off shore is amazing.

Thailand1. I booked the van and the boat with hotel like a month prior to my visit, but the day i arrived, they didn't show up. So had to get there by myself. But the hotel gave me complimentary dinner instead, and i accepted that 2. I stay there for 3 nights, normally I should get all new room amenity kits, mini bars filled up everyday, but i didnt get any of it. 3. Only get 2 bottles of water per day, which is not enough for me. Not only that, the maids forgot to give me 2 bottles when they came to clean up my room, so i called the frontdesk to ask for my water. But i had to wait for more than 2 hrs for that. The weather s hot and i got dehydrated. When I asked again they said " right now we ran out of drinking water and I have to wait " To be honest, for this range of hotel price, i have high expectations, so i hope the hotel owner get my feedback and please make some improvement
The view is spectacular, the food is great, the staffs are friendly &have service-mind

United KingdomI had a VERY warm welcome with clear info on the hotel and help with my (heavy) bags to the room (and from). Breakfast was lovely and all the people I met there were hospitality experts, being very welcoming, helpful and kind. The room was lovely, great shower, great view. What really tipped this into being one of the BEST hotels I stayed in across Thailand (and I stayed in some lovely places) was as another traveller noted on here, the well loved hotel dogs. Well, after a few weeks travelling in Thailand, it was absolutely DELIGHTFUL to be greeted by the official door dog greeter (I think himb was the Dog Manager) and I had a very discreet breakfast companion (there was another canine supervisor to keep her on task). To be clear, they were all non-intrusive - if for whatever reason, you're not a dog fan. But, BUT, it was so so lovely to see the hotel not only built within the local trees and cove but to also co-exist with the local canines/wildlife. I only stayed one night on route to Langkawi due to changed travel plans, but if and when I return to Thailand, I would definitely stay here again. Many thanks to all helpers, human and canine.

ThailandI would not call it a 5 star hotel, its a beautiful resort on the beach. But could use urgent support in management on kitchen/food, room preparation/cleaning, etc. .
Breakfast was nice but organization was all over the place. It seems there is one woman managing the whole place and wherever she is not things go into struggle.

SingaporeOnly spent 2 nights there ... too short a stay!!!
Hotel staff - Nick at the reception, and Mook at the bar, were really friendly and helpful. Got along very well with them! Villa - what a view! Spacious nd comfortable. Has a daybed on one side of the room as well. Even the shower point allows a great view of the seaside landscape. And there is a jacuzzi pool to soak in after a day on the beach. Hotel layout - cascading all the way down to the beach, giving every villa good views of the sea Beach - a small cozy cove, and what calm waters over here, and so clear you can see all the fishes swimming by...a great location to snorkel
