NorwayDuring the first 24 hours, there was a slightly strange smell, which reminded a lot that the room had either been unused for a while, or that there was a smell in the pipes. Anyway, this smell disappeared by itself on day 2
We always end our holiday in Ayutthaya as it is close to Bangkok until we fly home. We have had a fixed hotel that we have used, but when I was going to book this hotel appeared as an alternative. We were very skeptical as most of the reviews were negative. Fortunately, that was not the case and we were very pleased when we arrived. We have had a fantastic stay at Centara and we will be using this hotel regularly in the future. Considering how much bad criticism they had received, it was extra nice to see that this did not match everything that had been written about the hotel.

ThailandOnly one point - Bedroom AC is set at 20 degrees which is too cold for a good sleep. It cannot be regulated ourselves and we had to call an engineer.
Beautiful hotel just next to Central Ayutthaya and government centers. Two big shopping malls nearby. Easy access by the highway but not noisy. We love the high ceiling, the breakfast room and the bedroom with stunning panorama of greater Ayutthaya. Breakfast was very good and fresh. Staff were attentive. We love our stay and shall come back.

Thailand- Bell boy not willing to help. He seems to willing to help only the guests who come as a group. I went there with my sister only 2 of us. I had a 26" luggage and my sister had 4 bagpack. He just stood there look at us but not offer any help. I know he is bell boy because I saw him carrying the luggage for other guest. - No reception staff at front of the hotel. We end up went to the wrong direction because no clear sign or direction to point us how to go to the parking lot. The security guard even said complain why staff allow us to go there but actually no staff at all!!! They just stay in the hotel, talking together because I see there is no guest check-in at that time - I request 2 more pillows for each bed but got nothing - The elevator that use to go down to the parking lot did not work. We found that it was out of service. It could be because of the shopping mall is not yet open and the hotel share the parking lot with the mall. There is a ladder to go down, no access for wheelchair. It was not convenience at all!!!
