Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Switzerland- Mosquitos - The first night we couldn't sleep because we didn't know what the constant banging on our roof was (cashew apples and jackfruit falling from the trees) - We weren't bothered by this but know that due to the close proximity to the jungle, you're bound to meet all kinds of harmless animals (monkeys, dogs, lizards), sometimes even inside the bungalow (frogs, geckos, flies and other insects)
The host family was so lovely and welcoming! Whenever we needed anything, they were super helpful and uncomplicated. They also cooked delicious food and adapted the dishes for our dietary preferences. The bungalow was simple but matched our expectations. We really liked that it was slightly secluded (surrounded by jungle) but still centrally located. From the resort we could reach any point of interest within 15 minutes with a scooter which we rented from Coffee&Resort for a reasonable price (200THB for a 125cc scooter per day). Would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomA-frames do get a bit warm but there is a fan.
Friendly staff, pick up from pier. Really great lighting in the A-frame accommodation, the best in any place we stayed in Thailand; It does make a difference to the space you’re staying in. Doesn’t take long to get anywhere by scooter, which is needed really. You can hire them there!

FinlandNothing to complain about!
Bungalows were nice, clean and full of feeling. Location is good, easy to ride bike to every compass point. Staff were very familiar and kind. They made good food and Thailands best coffee and green tea. Easily our favorite place to stay on Koh Phayam!

SwitzerlandThe rooms were not super clean, but clean enough for our standards and the price.
We where in the Bamboo Bungalows and the Triangular ones and both where really beautiful. Quite unique and neatly designed. "Lee" was very helpful if we had any questions or problems, and the food and drink at the cosy Bar underneath the tree was nice as well.

United KingdomThere was an accumulation of building materials and waste at the very rear of the resort, but this was being cleared whilst I was there.
A small resort of two types of bungalows, both of which were excellent. The bungalows are surrounded by jungle with coconut and rubber trees. Excellent beds, medium to firm, which I found very comfortable and a large fan in the bungalow too. You might be lucky enough to see monkeys, gecko, squirrel, hornbills and eagles. The resort is run by an absolutely lovely family who work long days to maintain the place and provide great food and coffee. Some lovely breakfasts available including my favourite Kai Krata and some nice curries with a Myanmar twist served with roti. Nice chilling area at the front of the resort for breakfast, lunch and dinners. I was so happy here that one week turned into three! They were also able to arrange scooter rental, island tuk tuk taxi bike, speedboat tickets, nothing was a problem they were so helpful. Probably a 15-30 minute walk from the pier depending on which route you take.

United KingdomThat we had to go home :(
Everything! Rooms are beautiful as are the gardens and surrounding area. There's a lovely seating area out front, by a cashew tree which is a lovely chill spot and in shade! Cold drinks were amazing, for non alcoholic I'd recommended the roselle tea (so refreshing) and for alcoholic try the owners pina colada! The owners are a lovely family who are always welcoming, helpful and cannot do enough. You can also easily arrange bike rental here as well as tuk tuk to the pier on your return.

GreeceThe site has two types of bungallows and we stayed in the older/bamboo ones. In the night (every night), we had rats coming inside the bungallow. Apart from the hygien risks with having rats inside the bungallow, we didn't sleep properly none of the nights of our stay there, as they were making noise (e.g. cratching the wood).
The staff were quite friendly, polite and attendive to our requests. Also, there is a cafe/restaurant on site.
