Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaVery confusing ‘raft situation’: during day raft person comes very quickly, but past 9 pm you have to call reception to ask for assistance, which may be not comfortable to wait in the dark forestry area since there’s no light. The way around on a round is also long and without any road lights. Might not be suitable/comfortable for solo female travellers.
Very close to the airport, great for 1-2 nights stay, quiet area, room was clean, pool was nice and clean as well. Breakfast was great with lots of Thai options, but you if are up to more “western” breakfast then it might be not your thing: there’s egg station, but not porridge or options like English breakfast.

AustraliaRoom came with free airport pick-up. Despite providing my flight details twice, and what I thought was an acknowledgement that I was aware there was an extra fee due to after hours, there was still no taxi to collect me. It appeared there was some miscommunication regarding confirmation I was aware of the extra $200 baht taxi charge. This information had been sent to me twice so yes I was aware. As a solo female traveller first time to Phuket, it was a bit daunting having to locate the taxi rank and not knowing if I was using a reliable and honest service. The hotel refused to reimburse me but agreed to provide free breakfast instead.
Very good value for the price as my villa had a spa bath and plunge pool and was spacious. Convenient option for a night or two if needing to be close to the airport when arriving or departing Phuket.

FinlandBesides looking clean on the surface, with a closer look it was not so. We found a dead cockroach in our room and the pool had a lot of leaves from the trees. Also keep in mind that the prices in the restaurant and bar do not include VAT and service fee so the final bills from those are quite a lot bigger than estimated.
Impressive facilities, close to the beach and the airport, friendly staff who helped with the luggage.

BrazilTV is a comfort specially traveling alone with kid. In my villa the TV was 2 days broken, only last day a kindy receptionist helped to request the fix. Another thing, is about the transfer in my mind they simply pick up you at the airport, but not, it requested few details, I misunderstood so in the end I organised my own transfer both ways. The driver from the hotel appeared in the middle of my breakfast in the last day and he shouted : "Let's go because I have more passagers". Denitely I was glad for organising my own transfer back.
The pool and the food are very good! The ferry raft is quite funny and a good adventure for kids. The old guy who patiently takes us to the other side is very good. To have the beach so close is wonderful. Location surrounded by green is superb. If I would stay there again? Sure.

AustraliaWe booked three villas for our visit. Even though we had explained via email that we wanted each villa to pay separately we were charged for the whole three. This was a bit frustrating and inconvenient for us. The bathroom in our villa was very very hot. I'm not sure what can be done about this though.
The villa was large and comfortable. It was very clean. The breakfast was lovely and fresh with a good variety to choose from. The bar area was enjoyable. All the staff are lovely. The pool is beautifully presented and spotless and the setting is perfect 👌

MalaysiaThere were a few drawbacks to note. The furniture in the room was quite basic and could use some improvement to match the overall quality of the villa. Additionally, the pool was a bit dirty and in need of maintenance during our stay. Otherwise, it is a lovely stay with the hotel and value for money.
Overall, my experience at L'esprit de Nai Yang was pleasant. We booked a one-bedroom garden villa, which was spacious and provided a quiet retreat away from the noise pollution of the streets. The room is clean and well kept. The location was ideal, as it was far from the busyness of the street yet within walking distance to Nai Yang Beach, which was accessible by a small raft. Lots of trees in the areas, which makes the place look nicer.

United StatesWould have liked the pools to be cleaner. That was one of the main reasons I didn’t jump in. No real complaints about the establishment otherwise. The main culprit of a horrible stay was just the extreme heat and humidity which caused major exhaustion and dehydration. And in turn, mostly in my room trying to stay cool.
They had very beautiful rooms. Loved the pool access. The staff were very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating in every aspect. Also enjoyed the more slow paced and relaxing atmosphere, along with the location conveniently close to the airport.

AustraliaThe swimming pool was quite warm and not very refreshing however the weather was ridiculously hot for a few days prior to our arrival which would have played a part. We found this in most swimming pools in Thailand.
We had a 10.30 pm flight and had left phi phi island very early that morning, arrived at hotel at 10.am having booked a basic hotel room on 3rd floor (not villa) for just 1 day. The room was ready by 10.30am ! It was perfect for our needs. Staff were so friendly and accomodating. Location was quiet and secluded and perfect for out last day. They even offered us breakfast on arrival given we weren’t staying overnight. We swam in the pool before taking a short relaxing stroll to the beach (via the national park) where there are markets/ beach restaurants etc. (note, the beach is literally 2 minutes from hotel & markets/restaurants/swimmers maybe 5 minute shady walk along the beach). It was perfect for our 9 hour stay. Airport was no more than 10 minutes away and transport organised by reception. Amenities in room were basic though perfectly adequate. We didn’t require anything fancy for the day just a good shower and air con. We would have liked to stay a few more nights and tried a villa had time permitted. It was very relaxing and felt like we were miles from anywhere yet we were in fact very close but hidden away in our own little oasis. Surprised we got what we got for the price point or. not too dissimilar to airport hotels on main roads.

United KingdomWe weren't sure how to get the 'ferry man' back at midnight, so daren't walk through the dark trees to then be stranded. The walk around by road looked quite a long one (a good 5 mins in the car) and no/very few street lights. Apart from that all was good
We just stayed on our first night before another flight to Koh Samui. The transport from the airport (arranged through the hotel) was quick and well organised. On arrival the staff were friendly and check in smooth. We arranged a return taxi the following day easily. A good sized room (but no lift to the 2nd floor, i'm sure bags would be carried for you if you asked reception) with a lovely view over the pool and palm trees. We took the 'ferry' over the large stream and walked in near darkness to the little beach village (torch on your phone needed) - definitely do this! There's plenty of bars and restaurants, we found one with live music, a cool fan and a beach view. The food was cheap and delicious and they even gave us a lift home as the taxi's had finished (we did pay them :-) ). So, even if you're only there 1 night, make the most of it and see what's around you, don't hide in the hotel. The next day the breakfast was very nice, not top notch but great before setting off back to the airport; omelette, hot and cold options and helpful, friendly staff. We'd definitely stay here again between flights. Not sure i'd want to be here for a full week or two but a good stopover.
