Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsIt is a little bit further from the center, but with a grab only a short ride.
First things first, the staff is so so great. They are the sweetest people! Also the room was great and very clean. I only stayed for one night but would definitely come back. Also great location if you have to be at the airport earlier next day.

United StatesBreakfast: more selections like exotic fruits for (papaya, mango and watermelon (instead of just banana, apple and or orange), juice (instead of just water), and yogurt (provided for breakfast instead of 1 in the room).
The property is clean and meets the basic needs of visit to Chiangmai. It is a 20m walk to city center and night market. Yogurt, water and instant noodles are provided in room, which is a nice touch. Breakfast is basic and just about adequate. Suitable for backpackers and people who look for a clean place to stay while visiting Chiang Rai.

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike!
Gita's House is located in a quiet area but close to the centre of Chiang Rai. The staff were very friendly and helpful no matter what your needs are. Our room was spotless and cleaned well every day. The breakfast was suitable with fresh boiled eggs, bread, butter, jam, crackers, cereal, and fresh fruit with unlimited tea and coffee throughout the day. The room was equipped with a hairdryer, fridge, kettle, tea, coffee, glasses, fresh towels daily and shampoo, and shower gel. The shower area was spacious with good water pressure. I would highly recommend a stay here!

Location: nice and quiet area, 20 minutes walk from the night market Room: really comfy bed, plenty of space. Super clean. Staff: so welcoming and helpful! We had an issue with the toilet in our room and they went out of their way to sort it out. Breakfast: quite basic but still good to set us up for the day! Bananas and Papaya, corn flakes, toast with jam and butter, boiled eggs, tea and coffee. Also could help yourself to biscuits, bananas, tea and coffee at any time of day which was a nice touch. And there were yogurts and pot noodles put in our room for free every day!

FranceWe rented the "bungalow", which was large and had everything we needed. The setup was weird, however, cobbled together from rooms which must have had different uses before. For example, the living room had a wall of windows giving directly onto the common area and only seating on the floor. It would be good to have a table and chairs and a comfortable armchair. Given the many foreign visitors this place gets it would also be good to have at least one staff member that speaks adequate English.
A nice place in a good location with lots of attention to detail in a mostly ugly town where there are few better choices.

United Kingdomno hot water. Taking a shower in the middle of the day can be refreshing, but nights, and mornings in Chiang Rai are rather cold, so taking a cold shower doesn't feel the best.
The room looks very simple from the photos, but it is very practical: enough space, big bathroom, mosquito nets in windows and doors, place to put your clothes and other belongings. Very good internet Free bicycles to rent, and that day, when we toured around some of the temples on bicycle was really magical (riding in countryside) Possibility to rent scooter at the place at good price Residential and quiet area with some good coffee shops around. Even though there are not many facilities and no proper breakfast somehow our stay there was easy

Perfectly located for markets yet just out of the hustle and bustle to offer peace and quiet. 9 rooms, parking, shade, communal area for breakfast or to sit and have Jasmine tea. We arrived by motorbike and as Thialnd dictates morning rides due to the heat we were very appreciative of the midday check in offered to us. Breakfast snacks in your room for those who get out early before 7am of light breakfast 7-9.30am consisting of tae, coffee, juice, toast, eggs and fruit. Warm and welcoming staff and owners.

ThailandSound isolation isn’t a strongest point of this hotel. You can hear every parking car or every guest entering his room because windows and doors are directed to the yard. But it can be forgiven for such an affordable price.
This place was too good to be true! The room was spacious, fresh and comfortable. There were mosquito nets on the door and window which is essential for the region and yet not available in most of the hotels. A few tea bags of mint tea for a good sleep were a nice surprise. The bathroom is clean and spacious with all the necessary toiletries. The shower is exceptionally good! The water was very hot what was great for those chilly winter nights. The location was just perfect for us! A quiet area without loud bars or cafes, very peaceful place with birds singing in the morning. There is a nice quiet park along the river just in 10 min walk away and a splendid flower garden within the same distance to another direction. 5 min to the high way to go to some distant destinations and 2 km to the bus terminal where you can get a bus to the White Temple. The staff was very friendly, helpful and polite! You can definitely tell that they really care about the property so you can feel yourself like home.
