Rules, rules, rules! Had to sign an A4 full of rules during checkin. Signs inside the rooms also with more things you can't do. I didn't know that drinking and eating in a room could be so bad. Do I have to walk out of my room to take a sip of water or have a quick snack? Who knows! It was just a bunch of rules that made the stay very uncomfortable. I can understand not wanting durian in the room despite my liking the fruit, but all eating and drinking being banned is ridiculous. The breakfast was a bare minimum for this price. I expected better. Also, maybe because I don't see marshmallows and gummy candy to be part of breakfast.

The location was great and the rooms spacious. I also appreciated the pool towels provided.

I found the grounds could have been cleaner. The shades above the pool need to be better maintained.

I love the friendly staff and location. Everyone was very helpful! I also appreciate the patio or shade area along the beach.

This place has so much potential! We stayed for three weeks, and there’s just some small things that would improve the place hugely. Whilst there’s room for improvements, it also feels like the owners are content with the way it is. The beds could be better / softer with some extra top matresses. There should also be mosquito nets available. Although the staff did spray our room when I asked, and we didn’t have any mosquitos after they sprayed.

Probably the best location in Klong Dao! Very friendly staff and always clean and nice surroundings. We had a showerhead that didn’t function, and it took less that ten minutes before it was fixed; the staff all really did their best to make everyone happy all day. We also got a really quiet and lovely bungalow.

Our first bungalow was very ran down, bed was extremely hard and we were bitten by bugs for the entire night, however we asked to be moved to a different bungalow the next morning and staff agreed and moved us immediately without any problems which was nice. The second bungalow was much nicer with a comfy bed and it looked more looked after. They were both classed as standard bungalows, so it might be a lucky dip when it comes to the room. Cleaners weren’t great, our bed wasn’t made up properly ( it was an old blanket put between what it seemed to be two single sheets, so not a proper quilt or cover and since it didn’t shut it was all over the place and blanket was always coming out of the „covers” and it seemed that even cleaning staff struggled to put it together nicely and we were finding our things on the floor after they’ve cleaned. Breakfast was very bad, it’s the same buffet every single day, noodles were always cold, there were 3 people just standing on the side but they never refilled anything, so every day we had to keep asking for them to refill the milk, bring more fruit, eggs etc, considering that there were only 2-3 tables of people in the restaurant each time we had breakfast I don’t understand why it was a problem to keep the stations stocked, it really wasn’t busy at all.

The lack of power plugs in the room.

It is not a 5-star hotel but considering the price I paid that was cheap I got everything I basically needed such as the location is right on a lovely beach, a beautiful swimming , plus free breakfast. The place was well kept and the staff were great, especially Kob, the receptionist was amazing. Thank Golden Bay for making my holiday the enjoyable one.

It was very quiet, when we stayed there just before high season, which meant a lack of atmosphere.

Great location right on the beach. Very clean. Nice pool with view of the sea. Food is good. Staff is helpful and friendly. Easy access to beach restaurants, main street and close to Saladan.

The executive manager was problematic - as alluded to in another guest's review. I was offended by a his attitude; especially an interaction that became abusive.

A hotel resort feel, I could have stayed longer (I was there for 2 weeks) had it not been for the executive manager.

For a young couple on a romantic holiday it didn't feel like the right vibe, it's perfect for families with kids, many children there

It was very comfortable, nice beach easy to swim there, staff friendly and helpful We loved the yoga center next door , so peaceful there with healthy smoothies and snacks and enjoyed morning yin yoga class

The standard bungalow beds are so uncomfortable they are rock hard to the point I’m not sure it’s actually a mattress only downside which for 4 nights was fine but can’t imagine staying on that bed for any longer

The shower head unit in the deluxe bungalow kept getting loose despite having it fixed numerous times. I had to set it on a low setting to stop the shower head from moving from the attachment.

The staff was not flexible in terms of the booking made. Although payment was not done, we were not allowed to cancel a room due to a few people backing out of the trip. A request for late checkout was also denied and we had to sit at the reception for over an hour waiting for our ride back.

The place was close to the pier and hence the travel to and from the pier was minimized. The resort had its own private stretch of beach which was fun, especially for a group of friends on travel together. The complimentary breakfast provided was filling and the spread was fairly good.

It was very difficult and expensive to get a transfer from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport.
